You don’t negotiate with Charles Manson, John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer… You stop them.

As fast as a snake’s thrust, Israel has taken the methods of mass murder used against Gaza’s civilians to the West Bank, to Lebanon and Syria, to Yemen and beyond. It is now launching about for the next country to attack, Iran.

This is the bloodiest in Israeli criminal annals. Still, it is the consensus among the best of people, pure-hearted and valiant all, that the only way to stop the Israeli State’s serial killers is passively and pacifistically—“for the U.S. to end all weapons shipments to Israel.” And, that “the only way that this will take place is if enough Americans make clear they have no intention of supporting any presidential ticket or any political party that fuels this genocide.”

So spoke Chris Lynn Hedges, veteran war correspondent and journalist. Another man of first quality is Professor Jeffrey Sachs. To put an end to Israel’s hourly slaying in Palestine and across the Levant, Professor Sachs, for one, recommends “stopping Israel’s ideology of genocide.”

By this he might mean a reeducation or denazification program of sorts. It is unclear, however, how “stopping” Israel’s “ideology of genocide” will end Israel’s actual, multi-fronted, high-tech, industrial-scale murder campaigns against Palestinians and their defending neighbors.

September-October Carnage

Life in the Israel-occupied Levant

At an astonishing clip, the Israeli criminal enterprise sped off to Lebanon. Israel’s lobbies and Western enablers have now extended tacit permission for Israel’s bombing campaign in Lebanon—visiting death and displacement on the villages of Southern Lebanon, and on the southern suburbs of Beirut, where, entire city blocks have been demolished with ground-penetrating, bunker-busting American bombs.

Within the span of two-three weeks, in 10,000 strikes, 93 percent of which originated with Israel, some 2500 individuals had been murdered in Lebanon. A quarter of the population has been displaced, under eviction notice from their Israeli overlords. Israel’s bombing of civilians has extended from the Beqaa Valley, and the city of Baalbek, into Beirut, beyond the Dahiyeh, to the ancient Phoenician cities of Tripoli and Tyre, in northern Lebanon. Did I mention a strike on Lebanon’s only airport? Forgive: No sooner do the news chyrons of death and destruction by Demon State scroll across my screens than these are out of date.

Before the strafing of Lebanon now in progress—Israel had infiltrated that sovereign country’s supply chain of electronic devices to carry out one of “the biggest acts of mass terrorism” to date. Thousands were maimed by detonating pagers, dozens were murdered. Need I add that boobytraps contravene the laws of armed conflict? I don’t. You already knew that Israel relies for its existence on criminality.

As free marketeers, we harbor hope that Israel’s repulsive tampering with humanity’s personal devices will spur local Lebanese industries. The free market will, in future, ensure that Israel’s remote activation of sleeper devices will lend an edge to the kind of competition that advertises thus to consumers of electronic goods:

“Our products are Israel proof; they cannot kill their users.”

Long-term hopes and predictions are no panacea for unhindered carnage in progress. Israel is bleeding the region like a leech. Its high-tech murder sprees across the Middle East must be viewed, then, as actionable, S.O.S., life-and-death emergencies.

At the time of this writing hundreds are dying daily by Demon State. In Gaza’s dilapidated, destroyed hospital structures, in its schools-turned-shelters (28 desiccated on October 10), in its refugee camps, where the displaced huddle (dozens dead in Deir el-Balah); on the central-city streets of Beirut, where 22 martyrs had been offered up for the October 12 Sabbath; in mosques (19 souls taken on October 6), in municipalities, markets, en route to fetch food and water.

In dank nylon tents set ablaze, Al-Aqsa hospital patients incinerated in their beds.

A funereal rap way better than mine is the raw throb of BBOBBYY, the mysterious activist-artist who has superimposed his lachrymose lyrics on images of the crushed, dismembered and burned alive, rapped out in lamentation of “1 Year of Genocide”:

“A bomb descends and detonates, disembowels eviscerates, torsos torn, shredded bodies, no heads, girls with no legs on their deathbeds, heads without skulls, hollowed out holes, where there once were souls, dreams and goals, a father’s last cuddle in a blood-soaked puddle, a ghostly gray child hangs plucked from the rubble.”

No one is spared: children, women, their men; reporters, rescuers, healthcare workers. And peacekeepers in Lebanon. Peacekeepers, according to Professor Sachs, are one of the bedrocks on which to erect the future superstructure of peace between Israelis and Palestinians. The Blue Helmets, however, are present in Lebanon. Israel has begun picking off the United Nations’ peacekeepers, for it respects no international symbol.

In its unceasing carnage, Israel has now knocked out at least four major hospitals and 32 medical centers in Beirut, in what the Hasbara bills as “precision strikes,” in the course of “a limited incursion.”

For their part, Palestinians keep trying to nest, to return to the Sisyphean piles of rubble that are their ruined homes. But Israel will have none of that. It wants to empty Gaza north of the Wadi Gaza and is currently revisiting Northern Gaza, subjecting its dazed and confused survivors “to one of the most violent campaigns of its genocide.” So warns Euro-med Monitor. In Northern Gaza the IDF is now killing whoever remains by “saturation bombing” or by eviction—as in the renewed seize on the skeletal Kamal Adwan Hospital. As of October 23, Israel had killed over 770 people, reports DropSiteNews, “since it laid siege to the area 17 days ago, 33 of them since dawn on Monday, medical sources have told Al Jazeera.” (Oct 21, Al Jazeera)

Sneers “the most moral army in the world”: The innocents murdered are mostly legitimate targets on account that third parties—Hamas, Hizballah, and Houthi fighters—are either lurking or lobbing projectiles nearby. Trust us, the Israelis smugly snarl: If a smorgasbord of humanity is killed by us—men, women, their children, their ancestors, their livestock, their land, their defenders, their storytellers—it is because the dead were either terrorists who needed killing, or were in the vicinity of terrorists who needed killing. The kills were good; the killers righteous. Besides, the killers’ lives are worth more.

An hour in the life of Israel-occupied Levant (links via Antiwar.com) looks like this:

North Gaza Attack Signals Restart of Ethnic Cleansing.
Israeli Attacks in Gaza Kill 82 Palestinians Over Three Days.
Journalist [aged 19] Killed in Israeli Bombing After Being Warned to End his Gaza Reportage.
Israel Kills 100 Children in Lebanon in 11 Days.
Israeli Strikes Target Aid Trucks in Syria.
Israeli Strike on West Bank Cafe Wipes Out Family.

Unflagging zeal for generational genocide in Gaza has meant that, so far, Israel has wiped out 900 bloodlines in the enclave. The very definition of genocide.

Hasbara Media

Israeli state terrorism is framed as self-defense.

And the West acquiesces. The malodorous cauldron of lies that is corporate media have been conditioned by Israel and its Hasbara handmaidens. Day after day, the word from the media is the same. “Locked into the two-sides paradigm,” western media still pedal hard the “possibility” that Israel’s strafing of Lebanon is legal, righteous. They still equate the bombing of the civilian structures of Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon—municipal buildings, medical clinics and hospitals, media offices and officers, first responders mid-rescue, firefighters—with “self-defense.”

State terrorism redefined as self-defense,” in the words of commentator Mouin Rabbani.

A media to whom the “punitive slaughter” of tens of thousands of civilians, the hacking of the private mobile devices of sovereign citizens (Palestinian, then Lebanese), so as to deliver sadistic, illegal marching orders—psychological warfare—to millions, scattering them hither and thither (Northen Gaza is being evicted anew); such a media’s very mission is to elide the truth for Israel. Corporate media has lost the right to write news.

A more reliable reporter from the ruins of a Beirut southern suburb is the prototypical elderly Arab gentleman, interviewed 13 minutes into a Middle East Eye segment about Israel’s Dahiyeh Doctrine: “They’re criminals. They are not fighting men with guns; they are killing women and children.”

Indeed, Israel’s perverted, purely “punitive slaughter” is made manifest in the latest documentary from acclaimed British journalist Richard Sanders, to mark one year of genocide. Israelis are on display in Gaza for the last year burning with white-hot hatred and contempt for all Palestinians (nay all Arabs), whom they clearly consider Untermensch, subhuman. Nowhere in evidence among the horribly brutalized bodies of Ghazzawi men, women and babies is combat. Nowhere in evidence are bodies of boys carrying firearms or men kitted for combat.

Even so, the only resistance to Israel’s depredations in Gaza and beyond has come from Hizballah, the Houthis and Hamas (as well as from popular militia in Iraq and Syria). These fighters are the only forces resisting the mad dog medinah (מְדִינָה is country in Hebrew), which has murdered one in every 55 Palestinians residing in Gaza.

The Responsibility To Protect

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah saw his Good Samaritan duty as an obligation, not an option.

Resistance fighters are heeding the highest calling: The “Responsibility to Protect” (R2P). Make no mistake; Israel ought to have been resisted; its victims protected. In international humanitarian and customary human rights law there is a “responsibility to protect” a community that is being evicted and eradicated. While libertarians would regard the “Responsibility To Protect” as largely voluntary; we naturally attach great moral virtue to the Good Samaritan.

As did the late Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Nasrallah, secretary general of Hizballah, saw his Good Samaritan duty as an obligation, not an option. His people agreed. Acting in the spirit of R2P, the “Responsibility to Protect,” Nasrallah did the honorable and principled thing: The legendary Shia leader stood foursquare with his Sunni brethren in Gaza, against their Israeli mass murderers.

The world stood by during the Holocaust, even though the Final Solution and the facts of the death camps were known to the Allied powers late in the war. Mouin Rabbani, aforementioned, has thus drawn a parallel: Unlike the Allies during the Nazi extermination of Jews and other minorities; Nasrallah, a man with moxie and morals, refused to sit idle as Israel slaughtered Palestinians in Gaza. Likewise has Max Blumenthal likened Nasrallah’s disruptions on Israel’s northern border as the bombing of the railway tracks to Auschwitz. This, too, the Allied powers had failed to do.

For coming to the defense of Gaza, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah—Professor Norman Finkelstein had called him “The frankest most impressive leader on the world stage”—was martyred with American imprimatur and munitions: The payload consisted of eighty five 2000-pound, ground-penetrating bombs, “daisy chained together.” It was dropped by Israel on six apartment blocks in a residential suburb of the Dahiyeh, in four separate rounds. Hundreds of Lebanese died with Hassan Nasrallah.

In its unalloyed depravity, Israel is ever scheming on or murdering potential future adversaries. In accordance with its Killing-Just-In-Case jurisprudence, Israel has since also slain Nasrallah’s presumed successor, Hashem Safieddine, in his family home. These Prior Restraint statist doctrines are reprehensible to libertarians and liberty lovers. Yet Israel has no qualms about them. Why? Because Arabs are not allowed to entertain resistance to Israel’s crimes. (Incidentally, guess where the Kirya, Israel’s central military compound, is located? In the heart of the city of Tel Aviv. By Israel’s “morals and logic,” the Kirya and its surrounds are legitimate targets for the Resistance.)

Mowing The Lawn” is just another Israeli prior-restraint criminal tactic. In Israeli military bafflegab it’s called deterrence.

The West Bank & East Jerusalem Stolen

All that remain for the Palestinians are isolated outposts, surrounded by blockades, barrier walls, checkpoints and…state-supported terrorists

Secure in the warm bath of Super Power support; the Israelis, already uninhibited by normal standards of behavior, have gone into overdrive. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant now comfortably and brazenly speaks of “mowing the lawn” in the occupied West Bank, between Jenin and Hebron.

Before brutalizing Lebanon’s civilians, Gallant had announced, early in September, to his largely depraved populace that, “[T]he military has been ‘mowing the lawn’ during an ongoing major operation against terror groups in the West Bank, but will eventually need to ‘pull out the roots.’”

The current Israeli quest is to openly visit a Gaza-like annihilation on the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Genocide proper has come to the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which had only recently been invaded by columns of IDF Einsatzgruppen. The water torture has commenced. Taps have been turned off “in Jerusalem’s largest Palestinian neighborhood,” according to the reporters of the +972 magazine. Posses of settlers range across the West Bank in rampages of arson and plunder and with hubristic insolence.

Begun on August 28, the operation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem had been sadistically dubbed “Summer Camps” by IDF de Sade (by IDF standards, the eponymous Marqui de Sade was an amateur sexual sadist). The allusion is to hitting where resistance is fiercest, in the refugee camps. While the offensive against civilians is much less intense than in Gaza—no “saturation bombing” as yet—it is echoing it. “Summer Camps” is thus part of an accelerated and “concerted campaign to depopulate Palestine.”

“Under cover of war,” seconds the +972 investigative magazine, “Israel is demolishing home after home in Silwan, an East Jerusalem neighborhood, having “displac[ed] dozens of Palestinian residents this year.” The magazine, which manages somehow to sneak its reporters past Israeli snipers and into the occupied territories, confirms that “the Israeli army is destroying West Bank civilian infrastructure, blocking medical access, and conducting mass arrests in its largest West Bank operation in years.” Such arrests, 401 that we know of, mostly for offenses of speech, by the admission of The Times of Israel, are being conducted in Israel proper, too. The implicit aim, again, is to purge Palestine of Palestinians by making life relentlessly risky.

Between October 7 and September 30, of this year, there have been 895 Palestinian fatalities in the West Bank, including 201 children, reports OCHA. Again, while some strafing of civilians and their businesses from above has been carried out by the Israeli Air Force, the IDF’s grotesquely destructive efforts have focused on bulldozing roads, gutting water works and sewage mains, surrounding, destroying or just menacing mosques, markets, schools, universities, hospitals and clinics.

A desperate Bashir Matahen, director of public relations and media at the Jenin municipality, tells that, “The occupying (Israeli) forces have demolished more than 70 percent of [his] city’s streets completely (…) to a depth of approximately one to one-and-half meters, which has led to the destruction of water and sewage networks, as well as communication and electricity cables, in the areas that were demolished, initially estimated to cover 20 kilometers.”

All of which Francesca Albanese confirms. Via Ms. Albanese, UN special rapporteur to the occupied territories, comes confirmation of the reports of a full military assault on the West Bank, further damaging infrastructure already damaged in prior raids, and all the while instructing Palestinian occupants to abandon the coveted properties, and evacuate en mass. The genocidal impetus is indeed underway in the West Bank.

Palestinian dispossession in the West Bank is systemic, not sporadic. Sodomizing, strafing and stealing from occupied Palestinians—these are all in a day’s work for Israel’s finest. News, then, that Israeli hands are deep in Palestinian tills comes as no surprise: “Israel confiscated $265,000 from a money exchange shop in Hebron,” reports the Middle East Monitor.

In true obeisance to God’s laws, B’Tselem, the internationally renowned Israeli human rights organization, has also tracked the “forcible transfer of isolated Palestinian communities and single-farm families in Area C under cover of the Gaza fighting.” Between October 19, 2023 and August 29, 2024, the people of thirteen such hamlets had been removed from their ancestral lands, a way of life is being extinguished.

In an August 27 report, B’Tselem anatomized the general method by which the Israeli military assists settlers in grabbing land speedily by erecting minute-made “outposts and ‘agricultural farms.’” The trick is to informally establish facts on the ground, and thus skirt any poorly enforced legal process. By way of an example, B’Tselem deconstructs how the military assists settlers of “Meged Ha’aretz” in stealing the West Bank lands of Shufah and Kafa:

“Unlike formal multi-stage processes required to establish settlements, these [settler] outposts can be set up quickly and require relatively few resources and laborers. This method facilitates the state’s ability to shirk responsibility for land seizures as well as for the violent and illegal actions of the settlers who inhabit them, while simultaneously supporting these outposts in various ways.”

‘The settlers disturb the farmers working their land, deliberately provoking them and creating friction. They have also caused damage to hundreds of olive trees, agricultural structures, water containers and property; stolen equipment and livestock; sprayed graffiti; and burned greenhouses. They have instilled constant fear in the farmers and taken control of land by shooting in the air, intimidating Palestinian shepherds and preventing them from grazing their sheep and cattle in the area. Due to the violence and difficulty to access their grazing lands, some farmers have been forced to sell their herds—as feeding their livestock with purchased feed is too costly.’ (https://www.btselem.org/settler_violence/20240827_magged_haaretz_farm_military_assisted_settler_takeover_of_shufa_and_kafa_lands)

Their guns at the ready, the IDF soldiers look on as settlers rampage through West Bank villages, burning, looting and, yes, murdering. These Settler Pogroms  are covered extensively by Oren Ziv of +972. On September 2, B’Tselem documented how “undercover Border Police extrajudicially executed a military wing operative in front of bystanders in the Jenin industrial zone.” Arrests? What for? Nothing to see here. Move along. “If you try to defend yourself, you’re dead,’” attest the Palestinian victims. Resist the IDF and you die sans due process of the law.

Heroically have the Palestinian farmers and sheepherders of the South Hebron Hills struggled to uphold their ancestral lifestyle. They live in daily fear for their lives and the lives of family and livestock. How much longer can they linger without urgent and active intervention to uphold their basic rights to life, liberty and property?

Notwithstanding settler land theft en masse, a lot of people are staying with the story of the two-state solution. What about it, then?

The Two-State Solution Killed

The object of any future Palestinian State must be security, first, not amity, and a ‘Never Again’ mindset.

There is slim to no chance of a contiguous Palestinian State alongside Israel, given that Israel’s settlement policy in the West Bank has ensconced near one-million Jews on Palestinian land throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Monomaniacally focused, state-supported outlaw settlers are violently stealing Palestinian land as we speak. Close to a million of them, if we include East Jerusalem. All that remain for the Palestinians are isolated outposts, surrounded by blockades, barrier walls, checkpoints and…state-supported terrorists.

To the extent it was ever sincere, the two-state solution was killed by Israel and “the Israeli state’s auxiliary armed forces,” Dr. Rabbani’s moniker for the settlers. The coming into being of a contiguous Palestinian territory has been made impossible.

Considering that settlers and their ideology have tentacular reach into Israeli institutions, civil and state—the chances for a two-state solution are vanishingly small. Take the judiciary: Punishment for settler land theft and other felony crimes perpetrated against Palestinians in occupied Palestine is almost unheard of, as illustrated in the chapter, “Israel’s Law Of Rule In The West Bank,” in the essay “Defending Gaza (II): Israel Engaged In The Mother Of All Performative Contradictions: Denying Genocide, While Committing Genocide, Effectively Asserting A Right To Genocide.” B’Tselem has published countless research exposés on the marriage between the Israeli State and its settler “auxiliary armed forces.

Even the idea of “the two peoples, getting along, and actually drawing strength from each other” is Panglossian, at this stage. (Pangloss is the “unfailingly optimistic character” in Candide, Voltaire’s 1759 “satire on philosophical optimism.”)

Palestinians have been martyred en masse by their Jewish supremacist neighbors, who’ve shown themselves to be mired, as a society, in unspeakable debaucheries, and uncommonly capable of exterminating Palestinian survivors.

Who would fall into such a homicidal trap again?

Given the threat to their very existence, Palestinians must not be forced into existential ennui by the West. They already are like a mouse before a cat. Given this reality, the object of any future Palestinian State must be security, first, not amity with Israel. That, and a “Never Again” mindset. Any future Palestinian State is useless unless it affords the most imperiled people in the world the ability to defend against the most perilous people in the world.

Living Alongside Serial-Killing Sexual Sadists

The pairing, in Israel, of sexual arousal and violence toward Palestinians makes for a particularly irremediable pathology, the stuff of serial killers.

Israel’s bacchanalia in Gaza and the West Bank includes a Gulag of clandestine rendition torture camps, wherein thousands of Palestinian detainees languish without charges or due process, and are systemically and systematically raped, beaten, starved and left traumatized, twisted and deformed, disabled or dead. (“Something very sick and evil is happening in Israel’s jails. Welcome to hell is not an exaggeration,” reports the legendary Peter Oborne.)

Honed in rendition torture camps, sexual violence has become the coin of the Greater Israel realm. Settler-conquerors now roam the hamlets of the South Hebron Hills, out, loud and proud in threatening rape. Apparently, raping another helpless man is considered manly in Israel, a country that is otherwise more woke than any in the West.

In the one unremarkable vignette, filmed by B’Tselem, an armed settler threatens a Palestinian farmer in the South Hebron Hills with rape. “Rape in the name of God,” a la Sde Teiman, promises settler Shem Tov Luski, to a horrified Palestinian.

In yet another typical settler vignette, Turkish TV captured a uniformed IDF manhandling himself on camera, in a manner not fit to print. Reflexively. Apparently, threatening a helpless group of Palestinian homesteaders has aroused this IDF.

Holy Redemption: Stealing Palestinian Land,” a TRT World Exclusive documentary, plainly follows and records these settlers in character. There is no editorializing. Twenty-nine minutes and 20 seconds into this TRT settler odyssey we find said IDF soldier, in cahoots with settlers, hissing: “I spit on Palestine. F-ck your mother. I’m the Israeli Army.” He is not done.

Just as I imagined this breed of Cain could not expose itself as more indecent, the hissing, uniformed IDF soldier comes close to indecent exposure. At the said timestamp, the atavistic, low-brow individual shows himself to be lacking the inhibitions to keep his perversion private.

The Palestinian olive growers and shepherds of the austere Hebron Hills are necessarily a Spartan people. For centuries they have made things grow despite arid soil and the scarcity of water. They look like they belong; like authentic outdoor folk. The Settlers, on the other hand, look ridiculous. Out of place. In marked contrast to the dignity of the Palestinians of the Hebron Hills, settler flotsam and jetsam are an epitome of degeneracy.

Why, then, would Palestinians, a traditional, rather regal people, wish to “draw strength” and inspiration, in the future, from their genocidal neighbors, the great Israeli unwashed, who’ve done to them things that make the thickest skin crawl?

This I ask in the context of peacemaking—for also talked up among some is a utopic time when “the two peoples [Jewish-Israeli and Palestinian] will get along, and actually draw strength from each other.”

Daily, the Palestinians’ closest neighbors, the settlers, make manifest their red-hot hatred toward them, stealing land, regularly slaughtering helpless livestock with biblical cruelty, and generally menacing Palestinian property owners. Most disturbing is the overt, perverted sexual sadism of settlers and their soldier helpers.

The Nazis, whose spiritual heirs Israel is shaping up to be, paradoxically, hid their systematic crimes against humanity; Israeli Jews—a majority, at least—either celebrate or are callously nonchalant about felonies, perversions and crimes against Palestinians.

Israeli shamelessness is the quality that has helped the Al Jazeera Investigation Unit (IU) commit to a database thousands of videos, photos and social media posts “posted online by Israeli soldiers themselves during the year-long genocide” in the Gaza Strip.

The exultant whoops of individual IDF soldiers, mid murder, are now part of a dossier, a database. “Where possible, the Investigation Unit has identified the posters and those who appear,” leaving the International Criminal Court (ICC) with little else to do but to verify, and then initiate criminal proceedings. (Small wonder IDF squirrels are frantically deleting their social media accounts pursuant to the airing of “War Crimes in Gaza,” and to the filing, by Belgium’s “Hind Rajab Foundation,” of  a complaint to the ICC against at least 1000 IDF putative war criminals.)

Israel’s soldier sons and daughters are the stars in the country’s genocide constellation. In addition to “a range of illegal activities, from wanton destruction and looting to the demolition of entire neighborhoods and murder,” what emerges most palpably from “War Crimes in Gaza,” and from my own year-long observations, is the sexual undercurrent that accompanies IDF sadism—from pilfering Palestinian women’s panties to raping their men.

The nub and the rub of it: How do you extinguish, for the purpose of peacemaking, pathologically murderous sexual arousal? Do you chemically castrate IDF soldiers and settlers?

What of Israeli society? It, too, is a picture of moral decadence. Israeli sofa tv pundits are as chatty and blasé about “mowing the lawn” as they are about the sexual rupturing of Palestinian anatomy. Israelis themselves have partied on. It’s vodka in the bars, volleyball on the beaches. All the while, a few kilometers south of this Dionysian debauchery is genocide. Watch footage montage from Israel proper. Down south of the coast from these frolicking Israelis, on Gaza’s shores, fishermen are blown out of the waters should they try to fish to feed their families. (“How Israel destroyed Gaza’s ability to feed itself,” Al Jazeera, July 2, 2024.)

And what other country proudly names one of its killer creeds, the “Dahiyeh Doctrine,” “after an area of Beirut” where it had perfected its predation? No other than Israel.

Israel is the proud promulgator of the immoral, illegal “doctrine of inflicting massive harm to civilians,” perversely named for its victims. Imagine a serial killer, Randall Woodfield, for example—he hunted along Highway I-5—calling his killer craft the “Highway I-5 Doctrine.” Imagine Wikipedia describing Woodfield as originator of the “I-5 Doctrine.”

By all accounts, special prestige is attached in Jewish-Israeli society to the perpetrators of the kind of crimes that “knock the cosmos out of kilter.”

Rescue Plan Required, Not A Political Strategy

When a serial killer is loosed in your neighborhood; crime-reduction social programs are not the things you reach for.

Imagine your 911 dispatcher answering your “I am dying, send help” emergency call with, “We are working on community based, crime-reduction strategies.” By extension, boycotts and embargoes relate to Israel mid-murder as crime-reduction policies relate to a crime in progress.

It would seem fair to surmise, then, that stopping an ideology—Israel’s genocidal mindset or America’s sacralization of Israel—is a long-term endeavor, a strategy. A strategy, political or other, does not a rescue plan make. A long-term strategy is not the answer to an S.O.S. life-and-death situation.

When a serial killer is loosed in your neighborhood; crime-reduction social programs or political strategies are not the things you reach for.

Crime-reduction strategies, in the case of Israel, are those long-term incentive-based plans to increase humanity’s safety and security, by disincentivizing an entity that has proven to constitute a danger to the comity and safety of nations.

The private, voluntary, slow-motion Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement “works to end international support for Israel’s oppression of Palestinians and pressure Israel to comply with international law.” Voluntary economic boycotts on Israel and mandatory state embargoes on shipments of weapons to Israel: these are all well and good. But they are long-term strategies, not S.O.S. interventions in regional mass murder ongoing; these are not solutions to the problem of a mass murderer loosed on the Near East.

Israel is a promiscuous and licentious killer. To the mass-murdering medinah, the lives of Arabs are as cheap as the talk we in the West deploy about “stopping Israel.”

We’ve watched all of civilization’s edifices destroyed by Israel—from the sanctity of life, liberty and property to well-meaning legal frameworks designed to uphold these inalienable individual rights.

Israel, moreover, is humanity’s most barbaric instantiation. Not only does it target humanity’s most vulnerable, but also its finest and noblest; the people we most rely on: altruistic aid and rescue workers, healers in their clinics ministering to their patients, peace activists, writers, reporters and intellectuals recording the crimes for posterity.

For the better part of a year, we the people of Rome’s provinces have appealed to Rome on the Potomac. The magnificent, human rights and rescue community has “warned” and cajoled the Axis of Genocide—begged anyone they could buttonhole—while working and dying with their Palestinian charges in the field.

No petition to the United States has worked so far. America is not the solution, it’s the problem. On top of its already strong presence in the region as a standby and backup to its cheerless satellite—the United States is now sending Israel “an advanced anti-missile system and soldiers to operate it,” symbolically, at least, deepening America’s craven commitment to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, the West Bank and their regional defenders.

Because he considers Israel a rib from the United States’ rib cage, Matthew Miller at Foggy Bottom gives us The Talk: “We’re calling on our Israeli allies to improve their ways in war, to look into this or that massacre having spontaneously materialized in Palestine. These massacres are indeed very disturbing.”

Wryly, Electronic Intifada’s Ali Abunimah, Palestinian activist and thinker, offers up an apt syllogism for this American-Israeli stagecraft, 58 minutes into a conversation with journalist extraordinaire Rania Khalek:

“These reports of young men and women disappearing across America, and showing up brutally murdered are very disturbing. We ask Charles Manson, and John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer to carry out a very serious investigation and to hold those responsible accountable. It is really important that we hold people accountable, so we would really like Jeffrey Dhamer and John Wayne Gacy and Charles Manson to investigate this. And, the United State will work with them to do that.”

We cannot be lulled into the torpor of such talk.

Bullies must be stood up to and stopped. By definition, a bully is a coward. A bully, especially one imbued with a messianic, millenarian sense of supremacy, understands one thing: a united show of force. Israel’s regional serial killing needs to be stopped forthwith, and by force!

The attitude of the Arab countries, the Arab League, has been to let Israel do what it wants just so long as they were not the ones being targeted. But then they were.

The nub and the rub: War on civilians is a war on civilization. The coward’s aggression must be forcefully and righteously countered.

The Israeli State, which continues to operate outside the remits of man-made law and God’s law, must be defanged. You don’t negotiate with Charles Manson, John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer…

The plan to stop Israel will have to involve righteous, regional, counterforce. Details next.

Genocide is a crime, ‘the crime of all crimes.’ It stands alone; no mitigation or extenuation attaches to genocide ~ilana

Because it is an indefensible crime for which there are no extenuating circumstances or traditional defenses—genocide is neither war nor war crime ~ilana

IF it is portrayed as a war crime; genocide—the methodical, malicious murder of the many—can be dismissed as incidental to battle; a mere case of, “Oops, bad things happen in war.” You hear the last phrase all the time from Israel’s supporters, as they gush their enthusiasm for the Israeli State’s crimes.

The genocide-as-a-war-crime conceptualization provides cover and lends imprimatur for criminals and criminality. You mitigate and minimize genocide when you call it a war crime.

This is precisely the point of Israel and its co-belligerents: The purpose of framing Israel’s ongoing extermination of Palestinian society in Gaza as a byproduct of war—the same having commenced in the West Bank and East Jerusalem—is to give the impression that industrial-scale mass murder is often incidental to war. Bad things happen in the butcher’s shop of war.

But genocide—legally and morally—is a stand-alone crime; it is not a crime attached to a set of mitigating or explanatory circumstances. The Israeli State, gleefully engaged in methodical, indiscriminate mass murder, is thus a criminal entity. Perhaps not a common criminal, but, nevertheless a criminal country, a threat to the comity of nations. It doesn’t take a Carl von Clausewitz, famed Prussian general and war theorist, to figure this out.

Disquieting though this is, a better source of metaphor for Israel than von Clausewitz is Truman Capote. He is the originator of the true-crime genre, in which a real event is treated with fictional techniques and turned into a literary work of art. That Capote’s In Cold Blood certainly is.

The Israeli State, to commandeer and paraphrase Capote, is that “rarity, a natural killer—absolutely sane, but conscienceless, and capable of dealing, with or without motive, the coldest-blooded deathblows.”

In the crime he anatomized, Capote encountered the “single-killer concept” and “the double-killer concept.” Israel comes under the nation-killer concept, given that the nation, with thumping majorities, backed the killing of Gaza. Currently, it is by a preponderance of 71 percent that Israelis support the war on Lebanon.

In any event, because it is an indefensible crime for which there are no extenuating circumstances or traditional defenses—genocide is not a war crime.

The manifestly willful attempt to destroy a society and its people is a crime for which the death penalty—execution of those involved—has, historically, been meted. The exculpatory agents of Israel’s crimes against humanity are, alas, incapable of reasoning from fact, ethics and logic. Like programmed automatons, they therefore recite a counterfactual storyline, an ideological meme.

HASBARA AND A FLORET OF BABY FLESH

Israel’s odious excuse-making has come to be known as Hasbara.

In Hebrew, hasbara is the name of the verb to explain (lehasbir). It means explanation. Exculpatory constructs, assorted Hasbara, serve to coat Israel’s corporeal crimes against humanity with ideological respectability, to give these some imagined purity of purpose.

Think of Hasbara as the steady supply of bogus constructs with which to rape reality.

The facts of mass murder have been undercounted so far in a 649-page list of every Palestinian recorded killed in Israeli attacks. Two hundred and twenty-six pages of these, list the names of children 18 years and younger, including 14 pages of newborns and babies under a year old. Each name corresponds to a body, identified and interred. The last 11 pages list Palestinian elders, ages 77- to 101-years-old, all older than the country that killed them. (Via The Electronic Intifada.)

This carnage is being dismissed as a byproduct of war, executed within the matrix of Israeli “self-defense,” as Hasbara has it.

Hasbara to what end? To propagandize international audiences into sympathizing exclusively with Israel and demonizing Arabs. (+972 Magazine.)

Hasbara to dress up tiny dismembered babies, courtesy of Israel’s American baby-busting bombs, as something other than a little torso, and a miniature groin, from which a floret of baby flesh protrudes, where once a chubby little leg kicked. (https://x.com/DaniMayakovski/status/1833695316165398763. ) I am told by an expert code writer that the embed code generation for these tweets of mangled baby flesh has been disabled. Censorship down to the code in the service of Hasbara. (https://x.com/Afcq1954/status/1837472434707902578).

Hasbara to frame the specter of baby flesh peeled away to expose gleaming white bone—little bodies and minds shattered for life should they live—as the doing of a third party. “I didn’t do it,” jokes Bart Simpson in that all-American parody, The Simpsons. Hamas made me do it. CNN’s Hasbara, which ascribes an almost-attractive raffishness to IDF criminals, has it that the Occupation made Israeli soldiers commit their crimes.

Hasbara to help leave refugees with no redoubt, and nothing to their name but a nylon dome above their heads. Gaza’s homeless must wait to parry whatever next thrust Israel will deliver in… “self-defense.”

In-the-heat-of-battle Hasbara greases the skids for a Jewish Taliban and his posse of soldiers, whooping it up, as they explode one more mosque among the hundreds they’ve already vaporized.

Hasbara to ostensibly explain away another possessed IDF demon grimacing maniacally while reciting The Shmah, our “Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one” prayer. He then levels a mosque. “Have an explosive Sabbath,” roar these particular IDF, before bursting into popular song, “The Nation of Israel Lives,” and sharing that they had just wired up a house of prayer in Khirbet Khizaa, Khan Younis, in the central Gaza Strip. Next I want to see their faces, scores of them, appear on our screens from the Hague. But will Hasbara tools like Matthew Miller, ensconced in the State Department, allow it? Rhetorical.

Israel’s Hasbara facilitates “Israel’s conceit of invincibility,” in the words of commentator Mouin Rabbani. It has marred the West’s morality, but will never contaminate the natural law, and has yet to fundamentally change the common law.

Civilizing systems of ethics still stipulate that no one has the right to kill a single innocent human being, directly or indirectly, let alone hundreds of thousands of them—for by the time the Israeli serial killers are cajoled into stopping the carnage, there could be, in the informed opinion of American patriots like Ralph Nader, between 250 to 500,000, maybe more, Palestinian deaths brought about by Israel.

Easily—that is if the Lancet, the medical journal of record, and the human rights community don’t obfuscate the truth. The scholar Norman Finkelstein, author of Gaza, An Inquest Into Martyrdom (2018)—an exegesis of fact and law—has strongly suggested that they, too, have been compromised.

MINARCHIST, ANARCHIST OR STATIST: GENOCIDE IS FORBIDDEN!

International law is not at odds with the natural law or the libertarian law on the matter of industrial-scale mass murder. For reasons obvious, there should certainly be no difference between how classical liberals or anarchists understand the non-aggression axion in this context. Minarchist, anarchist or statist; genocide is verboten in libertarianism.

Craig Mokhiber, one of this country’s most principled specialists in “international human rights law, policy, and methodology,” explains:

International law does not allow a claim of self-defense to justify crimes against humanity and genocide. Nor does it magically overcome the international humanitarian law imperatives of precaution, distinction, and proportionality, or the protected status of hospitals and other vital civilian installations.
In addition, the presence of people associated with armed resistance groups (even if proven) does not automatically transform a civilian location or protected structure into a legitimate military target. If it did, the common presence of Israeli soldiers in Israeli hospitals would equally render those hospitals legitimate targets. Attacking hospitals is not an act of self-defense. It is an act of murder and, in systematic and large-scale cases, of the crime of extermination.
A claim of self-defense does not justify collective punishment, the siege of civilian populations, extrajudicial executions, torture, the blocking of humanitarian aid, the targeting of children, the murder of aid workers, medical personnel, journalists, and UN officials- all crimes perpetrated by Israel during the current phase of its genocide in Palestine. And all shamelessly followed by claims of self-defense by Israel’s defenders in the West.’  (Via Mondoweiss)

Having figured out, over this pixelated page, that genocide must be addressed as a crime, not a war crime, I humbly discover that I stand on the shoulders of “Raphael Lemkin.

Lemkin was … first …to put forward the theory that genocide is not a war crime and that the immorality of a crime such as genocide should not be confused with the amorality of war.” Genocide is “the gravest and greatest of crimes,” and thus dubbed “a crime against humanity,” wrote Lemkin, a Polish, Jewish human rights lawyer.

“‘The term does not necessarily signify mass killings although it may mean that,’ Lemkin explained in a 1945 article. ‘More often it refers to a coordinated plan aimed at destruction of the essential foundations’—cultural institutions, physical structures, the economy—’of the life of national groups.” (Via Mother Jones.)

Much like any good libertarian, Lemkin was a natural-rights thinker, whose reasoning about genocide—the intentional murder of the many—was derived from reasoning about the crime of homicide. Mass murder, essentially, is when “the natural right of the individual to exist” has been sundered many times over.

As to the offender: If the individual may not gratuitously and serially kill people; neither may the collective, the state, exterminate a class of people. It should make no difference as to whether the felon is a lone criminal or the “common force,” to use Frédéric Bastiat’s natural-rights nomenclature. In The Law, Bastiat writes this:

“Since … force by an individual cannot legitimately be… used against the person, freedom, or property of another individual, by the same argument, the common force cannot legitimately be used to destroy the person, freedom, or property of either individuals or classes.”

WHEN MONEY MEDIATES MURDER

If words matter, then boy! does money count.

The Israel Lobby, AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee), is an almighty fifth column which ought to have long since come under corruption investigations and dismantled (ditto the ADL). At the very least, AIPAC, a blatant Israel operative, ought to have been forced to register as a foreign agent and scrutinized.

The first such endeavor was attempted by William Fulbright decades back. In 1963, by Wikipedia’s telling, Fulbright—academic, statesman and politician—had implicated AIPAC in laundering five million tax-deductible dollars “from philanthropic Americans,” by ostensibly sending the money to Israel “and then recycle[ing] it back to the U.S. for distribution to organizations seeking to influence public opinion in favor of Israel.”

On April 15, 1973, Fulbright told Face the Nation, a current affairs television program, that “Israel controls the U.S. Senate. … [and that we] should be more concerned about the United States interest rather than doing the bidding of Israel … The Senate is subservient to Israel, in my opinion much too much.”

That was the end of Fulbright’s campaign.

Underscored in 1973, Fulbright’s reality has reached its nadir in 2024. On July 23, American law-makers-cum-Israel-lap-dogs leap to their feet some 50 times, with cheers and deafening applause, to express adulation for mass murderer Bibi Netanyahu, who is named as an offender by the International Criminal Court.

From Fulbright whose re-election bid AIPAC helped torpedo in 1973, to Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman, two charismatic Americans with grassroots support, who’d refused to do Israel’s bidding, in 2024: AIPAC (track it) continues to buy influence, and to subvert Americans whenever they attempt to exert their popular will against that of the Israel donor-class.

Progressive representatives Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and Cori Bush of Missouri dared to voice disgust for Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians of Gaza. That was the end of the Bush/Bowman bids for office.

While we’re deconstructing Israel’s lexicon of crime, do please quit calling its “Operation Swords of Iron” in Gaza a war. It’s not.

GENOCIDE IS NOT WAR

Israel’s onslaught on Gaza—from my diligent daily tracking, the Israelis have comfortably settled into massacring between 30 to 100 individuals, each day—is not a war by any definition.

In Gaza, there are no armies arrayed one against the other. This is no war between equal, opposing warrior forces. There is no parity on the battle field, only, for the most, the bullyboy’s aerial blitzkrieg carried out against a trapped civilian population. In terms of matériel, not the quality or morality of its men, the Middle East’s most powerful army is also among the world’s top 20 military forces.

The IDF’s extermination campaign against a population of cornered civilians has indeed been disrupted by pockets of asymmetric guerilla warfare from non-state resistance fighters. Their exploits are available in full on the X platform  of military analyst Jon Elmer.

Gleaned from my close observations over 11 months; the Gaza-based Hamas fighting brigades are no fat cats; they are skinny young Ghazzawi men, some in sandals, slinking among their ruined homes, darting in-and-out to defend what is left of their communities. These fighters are indubitably of the Palestinian people and for the people, as Palestinians see them.

And the way Palestinians see things is all important. The art of getting along, differences and all, is imperative in conflict resolution. Realpolitik demands not dominance, but that dueling perspectives be taken into consideration. Israel and America should not foist their reality on their opponents.

At any rate, let us try to avoid a dialogue of the deaf, and remember that words matter. They mediate action. Use them accurately: Genocide is the kind of crime that stands alone; no mitigation or extenuation attach to genocide. By extension, Israel is waging genocide, not war, and … Americans want it stopped.

For all their initial stated eagerness; most of our countrymen (61 percent now) want Israel’s genocide halted. Americans, moreover, want to stop arming Israel, as a June poll from CBS showed (via The Intercept). This includes 77 percent of Democrats and nearly 40 percent of Republicans.

Beholden to donor-class dominated politics, the regnant villains of the Stupid and the Evil Parties are, nevertheless, refusing to end the genocide in Gaza. Yet it must be stopped. Actively and urgently so, given that, in an attempt to bury the crime of all crimes; Israel has shifted the focus to its northern front, to Lebanon.

How to stop the genocide, in my next instalment.

Crime is SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for the Israeli army. Yes, do not dub a first-degree felony a ‘war crime.’ A crime is a crime is a crime. A criminal is a criminal. A serial killer, state or lone actor, must be stopped ~ilana

The Israel defense Forces (IDF), and Israel’s other policing agencies, in conjunction with the societal structures that support them, are striving to codify their de facto daily criminal conduct in law ~ilana

The totem words and adjectives we use to describe Israel, a perverse and pornographically murderous society, fail. One day flows into the next, each indistinguishable in the level of sadistic torture and carnage dreamed up by the IDF Einsatzgruppen.

As televised vignettes at July’s end showed, the Israelis, a “bizarre specimen of moral laxity,” in the 1728 words of Southern gentleman William Byrd, had been openly rationalizing the need to codify in law the rape of Palestinian hostages.

From Knesset members to the distinguishably dumb panelists who festoon that country’s tv networks, “Israeli media’s coverage of the rape of Palestinian [hostages] shows support for sexual violence in service of genocide.”

The crimes of genocide, the making and mass-marketing of online snuff films featuring murdered Palestinians, and the commission of extra-judicial assassination the globe over—these Israel has already de facto legalized in what passes for law in that thugocracy.

By the Middle East Monitor’s telling, “A Gaza detainee allegedly sexually abused by Israeli soldiers at Sde Teiman … suffered ‘a ruptured bowel, a severe injury to his anus, lung damage and broken ribs’ as a result of the immense torture he was subjected to by Israeli occupation soldiers. …One of the nine Israeli soldiers arrested for abusing him was released without charge. Deliberations about the other eight are continuing.”

Like Israel’s genocide in Gaza, the rape in Sde Teiman was captured on camera. Watch! Have an emesis dish close by.

According to Truthout.org, the Knesset, at July’s end—Israel’s lawmakers, no less—was debating whether or not sexual abuse à la de Sade Teiman was a legitimate tactic for Israeli soldiers. (International law considers sexual violence by soldiers to be a war crime.) … Members of the Israeli government have also defended the soldiers, claiming it is wrong for the government to charge the [rapist] reservists.

I say Palestinian hostages, because most of the thousands of Palestinian prisoners held indefinitely in Israel’s Gulag-like prison complex are held without charge under administrative detention—absent conventional due process of law. Originating in “English common law, and even the Magna Carta in 1215, due process encompasses procedural and substantive requirements,” and is very much an element of international law. Essentially, “no state” may “deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”

To its patsy press, the AP, “The Israeli military said, Monday, July 29, that “it was holding nine soldiers for questioning following allegations of ‘substantial abuse’ of a detainee at a shadowy facility where Israel has detained thousands of Palestinians since Oct. 7.”

Next, via Democracy Now’s account, “A right-wing mob, including members of the Knesset, broke into two Israeli military bases in an effort to prevent Israeli military police from detaining the nine soldiers who were under investigation for gang raping a Palestinian prisoner at the notorious Sde Teiman facility.”

When they are not fantasizing and embellishing about mass rape by their enemies (read Ali Abunimah’s “Debunking ‘Screams Before Silence,’ Sheryl Sandberg’s 7 Oct. ‘mass rape’ film”), and raping Palestinian prisoners—the Israel defense Forces (IDF), and Israel’s other policing agencies, in conjunction with the societal structures that support them, are striving to codify their de facto daily criminal conduct in law.

Halachic Right To Rape?

In both word and deed, Israelis have systematically and systemically agitated for the legal right to gravely mistreat their enemies, justifying the twisted sensibilities of their military and a plurality of their countrymen.

The canvassing I conducted in “The Jewish State Is Genocidal, But Is Israeli Society Sick, Too?”, a May essay, is seconded by Oren Ziv of the +972 Magazine (“A riot for impunity shows Israel’s proud embrace of its crimes“). Ziv correctly elucidates that “the support of Israeli political leaders, including some members of the Knesset who participated in the [pro-rape] riots, and the apathy of the military police, all indicate that those protesting against the soldiers’ [rape] charges are ‘the face of the state,’ expressing what are ‘mainstream’ views in Israeli society.”

Mainstream approval in Israel of genocide, rape, and snuff-film production explains why one of the reservist rape perpetrators, like so many members of the Israeli security establishment, proudly pleads his case on a YouTube video. In Israel, he is a patriot. Crime is SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for the Israeli army. Yes, do not dub a first-degree felony a “war crime.” A crime is a crime is a crime. A criminal is a criminal. A serial killer, state or lone actor, must be stopped.

Across the occupied territories, the Israel Security State summarily detains people absent due process, often deploying rape as a weapon to shame traditional men and women, and it loots and demolishes their homes. You see, Lockean homesteading principles, by which many Palestinians have come to own ancient land, flouts the Israeli Administrative State. The Israel security forces commonly also steal Palestinian money at checkpoints, as Middle East Eye editor Daniel Hearst has attested in conversation with award-winning journalist Chris Hedges. Both veteran reporters vouch for the veracity of the shakedown routines.

Silver-tongued Israelis and their Hasbara office at Foggy Bottom (The US Department of State), in the persons of Matthew Miller for Crime Boss Antony Blinken, continue to deny this existential Palestinian reality, framing it as outlier cases. The “most moral military in the world” will investigate … itself.

But Israel is a lattice of lies.

A deception embedded deep in this lattice of lies is that, contrary to most criminal enterprises and individuals, a spectacular democracy like Israel has the absolute ability to investigate itself. Indeed, a new report authored by the aforementioned +972 Magazine, “for the human rights group Yesh Din, shows how the main role of Israel’s military law-enforcement system is to maintain the appearance of internal accountability in order to shield itself from external criticism.” (“How Israel plans to whitewash its war crimes in Gaza“)

In this case, the greater goal of Israel’s legal apparatus and jurisprudence is to fend off charges of genocide and war-crimes in international courts of law. Be mindful, then, that any investigation ever launched or any arrests made by Israeli authorities are symbolic, cursory and inconsequential, part of a well-established strategy to safeguard the greater criminal enterprise.

Essentially, expect the Jewish State’s stooges (Alan Dershowitz in the lead) to be trotted out to huff and puff indignantly at the very notion that a manifestly lawless thug of a state, whose justice system is complicit in minting maniacal laws in support of unfathomable thuggery and cruelty, is incapable of investigating itself. Antisemitism.

Ultimately, Israel has become adept at narrative, at manufacturing mantras about its unsurpassed morality, this, as it is mired in illegality and criminality. (Read my own analysis of how Israel and its courts “CO-OPT HUMAN-RIGHTS LAW,” in the essay, “Defending Gaza (II): Israel Engaged In The Mother Of All Performative Contradictions: Denying Genocide, While Committing Genocide, Effectively Asserting A Right To Genocide”.)

Metaphysically, the Midrashic force behind rape and the rest of the crimes informally institutionalized in this de Sade society often comes from the halachic top, from movers-and-shakers in Israeli moral precincts. In my June, 2024 essay, “Defending Gaza (Part I): Natural-Law Principles Vs. National-Interest Statism,” the delightful Rabbi Col. Eyal Karim made a cameo:

“His flesh softer than sin, Rabbi Col. Karim, the head of the military rabbinate of the Israel Defense Forces, had indicated, in 2016, that ‘as part of maintaining fitness for the army and the soldiers’ morale during fighting, it is permitted to …satisfy the evil inclination by lying with attractive Gentile women against their will… .’ News of the rabbinical rape-injunction came courtesy of Israel’s own YnetNews.com.” Before Rabbi Karim, there was Shmuel Eliyahu, chief rabbi of Safad, who “urged a genocide in Gaza and excused rape by soldiers.” (Via Electronic Intifada.)

As lamented in the opening to this essay you are reading, “One day flows into another, each indistinguishable from the next in the level of sadistic torture and carnage dreamed up by the IDF Einsatzgruppen.” Hipper and more happening than the rape of Palestinians in Israeli prisons—that’s old news—is the use of Palestinian civilians, often children and the elderly, to clear potentially booby-trapped tunnels in Gaza. “Our lives are more important than theirs,” boasted members of the low-inhibition, atavistic Israeli death squads, just the other day.

Israel Einsatzgruppen’s horror du jour comes courtesy of a Haaretz investigation, which reveals that “Gazans not suspected of terrorism are detained and sent as human shields to search tunnels and houses before IDF soldiers enter, with the full knowledge of senior Israeli officers.” So say “several sources.”

Agile liars that they are, the “IDF claims this practice is forbidden.” (So it happened, and then was mildly protested?)

The things the Israelis tell us are so much eyewash: These people—this “bizarre specimen of moral laxity”—think that all of us lack the mental equipment to detect crude circular reasoning, such as that which Maj. Nir Dinar, an Israeli military spokesman, served up to the corrupt, sub-intelligent New York Times: The Israeli “military acts upon ‘operational necessity,’” Dinar vaporized in reply to an atrocity query. It “follows laws of war.” “Every target that is being eliminated, there is a good reason for that elimination.”

Maj. Nir Dinar is deploying Israel’s penchant for the backward-reasoning fallacy. To wit, if a Palestinian is dead by IDF—it is because he deserved to die, was a “terrorist.” But, “Backward reasoning, expounded by mystery author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle through his famous fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes,” observed Dr. Thomas Young, a philosopher, “applies with reasonable certainty when only one plausible explanation for the … evidence exists.”

The Nuremberg Defense

I’ve heard friendlies, righteous commentators all, express sadness over the fact that the IDF death squads will invariably suffer years of assorted Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders. Please don’t! There is a glut of legal evidence for serving arrest warrants on hundreds of individual Israeli soldiers. If only there were some imaginary UN Marshal, to enforce customary, international humanitarian laws prohibiting mass murder and genocide.

Neither should the Nuremberg defense, “I was only following orders,” be floated in mitigation of the IDF. The evidence is conclusive. IDF shoot and loot for fun. Pleased to dilate upon their crimes, IDF common criminals shared with the +972 Magazine that they “fired without discrimination. Often just for fun. We burned down homes. Every male between 16 and 50 was considered a terrorist, fair game. The bodies we bulldozed into ditches, so as to reduce visibility to service providers.”  (I translated from the more brutal Hebrew version of the magazine article, whose Hebrew URL cannot be transposed here.)
Nobody ordered the IDF to shoot kids in the head; they do it for the love of it, because of who they are. American volunteer surgeons Drs. Mark Perlmutter and Feroze Sidhwa are the latest angels of mercy and morality to attest that “without a doubt” and with steeliness of purpose; Israeli ace snipers deliberately shoot Palestinian children and toddlers, aiming precision shots at hearts and heads.

With every incriminating, choreographed Tik Tok or Instagram upload, the IDF have proven themselves murderous and without morals. By volition, by the numbers. “What Israeli Soldiers’ Videos Reveal: Cheering Destruction and Mocking Gazans” was curated by the New York Times, belatedly. New snuff films come online every day courtesy of IDF dreck. “There is a new film,” announces one sneering Jewish supremacist. He names it “Crushed.” (Revealing is the soldier’s greeting, هْلًا وَسَهْلًا ahlan wa sahlan. It’s Arabic for welcome. To be cool, second handers like this soldier must culturally appropriate the local patois from the indigenous people.)

That the “Goyim” are clearly repulsed is no deterrent. The “Most Moral Army in the World” had been operating an “exclusive-content” “channel to share the gruesome killing of Palestinians.” This IDF-run public war-porn channel, out of Israel, served up content in which murder was sauced-up or overlaid by sex talk.

Essentially, snuff films.

As I had remarked before, such patterns of arousal—the commingling of serial killing and sex—are tied to psychopathy. The psychopathic fusion of lust and murder appears endemic among IDF soldiers. The channel, which catered to Israeli audiences, was called “72 Virgins – Uncensored.” The revelation came via Ha’aretz, an august Israeli news source.

The latest instantiation of Israeli society’s impenetrable, clannish sense of entitlement, borne of an imagined grant of divine rights, comes courtesy of journalist Mehdi Hasan’s documentary, “Israel’s Reel Extremism.”

There is the familiar fare—IDF joyously vaporizing Palestinians, individuals and building blocks as though in a video game; mocking their victims, invading their homes; filching from their businesses, and rummaging through the piteous intimate effects of people dead and dispossessed. Some acts of defilement are too lewd to recount.

Saturating the new “Reel Israel” IDF interviews is an attendant pride in criminal conduct. IDF hubris is expressed in snide, supercilious, self-satisfied, supremely confident, asinine quips. These speak to an unadulterated, manifestly unfounded sense of Jewish supremacy:

‘I don’t see any problem with humiliating the Palestinians.’
‘I don’t think there should be life in Gaza on the day-after.’
‘If we have to kill a million [Palestinians]; then it’s a million.’
‘Naturally, there is a sense of superiority. Daily I go about with a sense of superiority to Gaza. Who would not feel superior to the people of Gaza?’

Rape of hostages held in detention without charge, and the use of Palestinian children and the elderly, in combat, to clear Hamas tunnels—these IDF grotesqueries bleed “nicely” into extra-judicial assassination.

Extra-Judicial Assassination

Ismail Haniyeh, formerly the fourth Palestinian prime minister and a leading political leader representing the Palestinians of Gaza, was executed extra-judicially—how else?—by rogue state Israel at the end of July.

As polls clearly show, Haniyeh enjoyed wide support among the Palestinians of the West Bank and East Jerusalem as well, and was widely viewed among the people of the Arab world—not their ruling elites, who are puppets of the Axis of Genocide—as a political moderate and a uniter of Shia and Sunni. Haniyeh was also beloved of his immediate neighbors in Gaza’s al-Shati refugee camp, where he was raised.

According to historian Ilan Pape (starting at around 18 minutes into this Electronic Intifada interview), such repulsive executions have been part of the Israeli State’s founders’ modus operandi since its inception, and before. Here is a likely inexhaustive Wikipedia list of the “zombie state killer’s” extra-judicial kills over the years. “Eight other times had Israel been accused of assassinations in Iran.”

From diplomatic attachés, to university professors, to scientists, to thinkers and mere men of words—as in activists—to military men, to jailed prisoners, to resistance figures and fighters, and some just “unknown” collateral-damage, for-fun kills: you name them; Israel has targeted them.

As I pointed out in “The U.S. As The Globe’s Judge, Jury And Executioner,” a 2020 column dissecting the murder of Qassim Soleimani by America, “blind patriotism stateside is predicated on accepting that it is up to the U.S. government and its ruling elites to determine who lives and who dies around the world.”

Some say war criminal Netanyahu pushed for the 2020 murder of Soleimani, an Iranian major general. On the Axis of Genocide, with respect to extra-judicial, illegal assassinations—it is safe to say that, while America emulates Israel, Israel is a kingpin crime boss on this front. Israel is unmatched in picking off legitimate leaders with whom it doesn’t wish to liaise diplomatically. Theoretically, that is almost everyone.

Ismail Haniyeh, “who served as the third political leader of Hamas, … [Hailed] from a family of refugees expelled from historic Palestine during the Nakba in 1948. [H]e grew up in northern Gaza’s beachside al-Shati refugee camp. Haniyeh ascended through the ranks of Hamas, starting as the secretary to the group’s founder, Ahmed Yassin, and eventually leading its political bureau.”

“Israeli forces [had] bombed members of Haniyeh’s family in the al-Shati refugee camp twice, killing at least three of his sons, two grandchildren, his sister and around 10 other relatives.” (Middle East Eye) Yet, to publicly express sadness over the gratuitous taking of Palestinian life is verboten by the Axis of Genocide. Righteous commentators on the side of justice thus confine their comments to the strategic aftershocks of Haniyeh’s murder by the rabid-dog state—that he was, for example, also lead negotiator in the matter of the hostages, Palestinian and Israeli.

Alas, the saga of the Palestinians and their relentless leaders is also terribly sad. Haniyeh had lost upwards of 60 members of his family. He knew the risks of resistance and took them. Haniyeh’s murder, on Iranian territory, “came hours after Israel bombed Lebanon on the Tuesday evening, killing three civilians,” as well as murdering another human being, “Fuad Shukr, Hizballah’s most senior military official and its leader Hasan Nasrallah’s close confidant.”

Hizballah represents a large swathe, not exclusively Shia, of Lebanese society. Established to resist the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon—an aspiration shared by most Lebanese—Hizballah is a political party with a presence in the Lebanese Parliament and the unity government. It has become “a mainstay in the Lebanese polity.”

When Ismail al-Ghoul, a young Gazan journalist, and Rami al-Rifi, his cameraman (both “terrorists” by Israeli backward logic, given that they were between 16 and 50) went to report from Haniyeh’s humble home in the al-Shati refugee camp, where kids had congregated to commemorate their neighbor, also the political leader of their resistance–Israel bombed the two to bits. As is the case with all journalists targeted by Israel, they were “in a clearly identifiable press vehicle when a missile directly hit them. It killed both reporters and a young boy walking by. The strike left young Ismail al-Ghoul headless.” (Mondoweiss)
(Image Via MiddleEastEye)

Al-Ghoul’s colleague, Al Jazeera’s Gaza-based reporter Hind Khoudary, a reserved young woman whose courageous reporting I’ve watched for ten months, broke down on air, inconsolable. Hind’s hopeless despair was that of one who has followed the rules, but found that those were no deterrents to Israel’s wanton—clearly intentional—vampiric slaughter of Gaza’s best, brightest and bravest, young people in the full flowering of their vitality.

How could any half-decent woman who has born a child—Hind is but a child—watch this girl weep and not yearn to comfort her and keep her safe? A philosopher at Mondoweiss ventured something quite simple. Truth is often simple.  “… if someone … could still defend Israel, then this manifests a serious moral character flaw. … If you support Israel in the middle of a genocide, you’re an awful person.” (Good enough, although “awful” is toddler-level vocabulary.)

The Do-Nothing BRICS (Except South Africa)

An “act of assassination”: China was quick to condemn the murder of Hamas’ political leader Haniyeh, who, as mentioned, had been acting as Israel’s lead interlocutor in hostage negotiations.

An “unacceptable political assassination,” seconded Russia’s foreign ministry. Türkiye’s president, Tayyip Erdogan, “condemned the assassination in Tehran and said the killing would not break Palestinians’ will.” (Reuters)

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had pointed out, on July 17, 2024, that,

Over the past 10 months or 300 days, nearly 40,000 Palestinian civilians had been killed and 90,000 wounded. The majority of them are children and women. The number of civilian victims [in Gaza] over the past 10 months is twice as large as the number of civilian victims in Ukraine on both sides of the conflict over the past 10 years since the [US sponsored] state coup in February 2014.

Correction, sir: These are the confirmed deaths, where Gaza’s pitifully diligent government has managed to faithfully tally each individual with his or her remains, so that relatives may lovingly shroud the bodies, some so tiny, weep over them and inter them.

At last count, then, more than 40,000 Palestinians had been murdered, 92,401 maimed, and over 85 percent of the population displaced from their homes many times over. These are direct, confirmed casualties. In character, and ever late to its obligations, as I remarked in November of 2004, during America’s onslaught on Iraq—the august British medical journal The Lancet has finally, ten months into a genocide, awoken to the Truth:

In recent conflicts, such indirect deaths range from three to 15 times the number of direct deaths. Applying a conservative estimate of four indirect deaths per one direct death to the 37,396 deaths reported, it is not implausible to estimate that up to 186,000 or even more deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza. Using the 2022 Gaza Strip population estimate of 2,375,259, this would translate to 7-9% of the total population in the Gaza Strip.

American Israel Idolaters are still claiming that all this is a tidy lie via the “Hamas-run government.” Coincidentally, this remnant of the government in Gaza is obviously “Hamas-run”; much like Israel’s government is Netanyahu-run, and as America’s government is Genocide-Joe fronted. The first is a crime boss, a Neolithic beast of a man. The last is a degenerate, corrupt and demented old git. More so than these putrefying men does Hamas legitimately represent the Palestinians of Gaza—that is if we are to listen to what Palestinians tell us.

I continue to recommend to you, dear reader, a variation on Richard Pryor’s wry wisdom about he who has been caught in flagrante delicto. The reader must thus believe his eyes, not the lying Israelis. The Israelis and their Israel-First American enablers are, plainly put, lying.

Gaza’s landscape is Gothically grotesque for what is says about the agents of destruction who’ve reduced it thus. It is also apocalyptic, IsraHell having demolished most dwellings, and displaced most of Gaza’s inhabitants many times over. The nylon dome is now their home.

Believe the evidence before your eyes, such as the July 2024 satellite imagery via of UNOSAT. “Gaza Strip 8th Comprehensive Damage Assessment,” imagery and analysis courtesy of the United Nations Satellite Center, is already obsolete.

Once the “runaway Zombie Killing Machine” (Rami Khouri‘s coinage) is stopped, I believe it quite possible, given the scale of destruction, that as many as half-a-million Palestinians will have been exterminated, with America at Israel’s elbow, and only the faintest protest. The IDF, with near-full acquiescence from a plurality of its own countrymen, has, so far, likely killed hundreds-upon-thousands of Palestinians, directly, via blitzkriegs ongoing, and indirectly. And it continues to murder daily guided by a quest for a Final Solution to its Palestinian Problem.

BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, with BRICS announcing the admission of Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Argentina as new member states) might want to consider an urgent course of action to stop Israel—an amoral pornographically violent terrorist state by any other name—or their leaders will be next. I venture that dissidents, activists or writers (whose careers have not yet been destroyed decades ago by Israel First neoconservatives), are in danger, all, of death by demon state.

‘Topography Of Cruelty’

With Israeli flesh merchants inflicting a new level of the grotesque on the Palestinians every day, the totem nouns and adjectives used to describe Israel fail.

Thus, as is the custom in these essays of mine, let us cede to the heroes who help bear witness to some of IsraHell’s handiwork.

Drs. Mark Perlmutter and Feroze Sidhwa have witnessed the Israel-created “topography of cruelty” and the deliberate creation of famine in Gaza. Picture, if you can, the static sight of “thousands and thousands of semi-trucks parked alongside the highway for nearly 30 miles … —convoys of lifesaving aid turned into static walls.”

By Israel.

Upon that “topography of cruelty” these two humanitarian surgeons have laid healing hands in the operating room:

We have no idea how Juri ended up in the Gaza European Hospital preoperative area. All we could see was that she had an external fixator — a scaffold of metal pins and rods — on her left leg and necrotic skin on her face and arms from the explosion that tore her little body to shreds. Just touching her blankets elicited shrieks of pain and terror. She was slowly dying, so we decided to take the risk of anesthetizing her without knowing exactly what we would find.
In the operating room, we examined Juri from head to toe. This beautiful, meek little girl was missing two inches of her left femur along with most of the muscle and skin on the back of her thigh. Both of her buttocks were flayed open, cutting so deeply through flesh that the lowest bones in her pelvis were exposed. As we swept our hands through this topography of cruelty, maggots fell in clumps onto the operating room table.

‘Jesus Christ,’ Feroze muttered as we washed the larvae into a bucket, ‘she’s just a fucking kid.’

In just a couple of weeks, Mark Perlmutter said he saw more carnage inflicted upon civilians than he had in the combined total of his previous thirty years of humanitarian visits to war-zones around the world.

The account rendered by these humanitarian surgeons is titled “We Volunteered at a Gaza Hospital. What We Saw Was Unspeakable.” Images accompany the account. Yes, little Juri is beautiful. The oxygen mask does nothing to conceal the delicate sweep of her dark eyebrows, which frame the largest eyes imaginable, fringed with black lashes. Should she survive debridement and be given the many surgeries she requires, Juri will live with a colostomy and “a lifetime of severe and permanent disability.” Israel has destroyed all of Gaza’s teaching hospitals, and specialized pediatric Intensive Care Units. Juri’s chances and those of tens of thousands like her are slim.

( Screen-picture capture via Politico)

The next screen-picture captures the devolution of Tamer, a young Palestinian nurse, over three encounters with IsraHell. In the first image, Tamer’s leg has been blown to bits, but he is still otherwise youthful, handsome. In the next two images, following detention and torture by his Israeli tormentors, we see a husk, a man who is a shadow of the first image. An eye is missing. The man in the wheelchair’s wasted legs can no longer ambulate.

Some Of What Palestinians Taught Me

In Mehdi Hasan’s “Israel’s Reel Extremism,” the new documentary mentioned, Israeli society’s best and brightest reveal their staggering pomposity. With jollity and bonhomie, thirty-three seconds into the Reel Israel’s trailer, a smug young Israeli invites us to stare into a …cavernous emptiness. He says:

“Naturally, there is a sense of superiority. Daily I go about with a sense of superiority to Gaza. Who would not feel superior to the people of Gaza?”

Far from feeling superior to the People of Gaza; I am humbled by them. In my homeward journey away from all things Israel, since October 7, I have made it my mission to learn all I can by observing Palestinians and Israelis through every prism available to me. I’ve studied both peoples as closely as is humanly possible for ten months.

In the process, I have learned as much as I have unlearned about both peoples.

My matured impression is that Jewish-Israelis and Palestinians are temperamental opposites. Jewish Israelis—they truly hate Palestinians—give vent to their loathing in the hurried cadence of the histrionic. They are excitable, congenitally irrational and pathologically solipsistic in their me-me; us-vs-them monomania. It is fitting that Israel’s verbally flatulent “cognoscente” and TV vulgarians (I watch i24 Hebrew so you don’t have to)—their accents so broad and guttural, their Hebrew so anglicized and pidginized—are incapable of disgorging a single ennobling or original thought.

On the other hand, Palestinians—in Palestine and the diaspora—do not voice a hatred of Israel, their nemesis. Rather, they describe Israeli actions toward them, as they cradle their destroyed limbs and dead children. They look to the heavens and ask, “Where is the world, where are the Arab nations?” They do not question their God, but simply say He will deliver them. Although they must be seething inside; Palestinians seem of a quiet, thoughtful, stoic temperament. They exude a self-containment, in contrast to the irrational emotional abandon of the Israeli type, to which I, a Jew who grew up in Israel, was always temperamentally unsuited. Gaza’s Palestinians behave as a dignified, reserved and refined people would, superior to the vulgar Israelis in every way.

In the process of learning as much about the Palestinians as I’ve unlearned; I’ve learned about myself. I now know why I fled Israel, aged 19, never to return.

Israel is engaged in the mother of all performative contradictions: denying genocide, while committing genocide, all the while demanding the right to genocide.

The Jewish State is genocidal not because it has been denounced as “genocidal” by ostensible “antisemites” and “terrorist sympathizers,” but by virtue of its actions. Israel is genocidal by virtue of what it has done to Gaza, the people and their land.

Shortly after October 7, 2023, conceptions of vice and virtue were crystalized like never before. It was then that certain self-evident truths became crystal clear. For you are what you do. Israel’s actions within Gaza and without it have shown the world—myself, a former supporter of Israel included—in cruel relief the barbarity of Israeli state and civil society.

By closely observing Israel in action over nine months, in Gaza and beyond, and then, as closely, listening to and chronicling Israeli and Jewish leaders, stateside and in Israel, as they walked the walk—immutable truths about the Jewish State were easily deduced commensurate with Israel’s invasion of Gaza.

Thumping majorities across Israel’s public sector, private sector and “third sector,” you name them—have been justifying, finessing and fibbing about their army’s “high-tech murder spree” in Gaza, a campaign that Israel and its American underwriters have taken to the West Bank, and are poised to continue in Lebanon, if allowed.

Thus, the labels “antisemite” and “terrorist sympathizer” amount to a blood libel leveled at millions, perhaps billions, in the Global South, in particular—although the wholesale slaughter carried out by Israel in Gaza has stirred hearts across the world.

So far, the watching world has been peacefully protesting genocide through the written and spoken word, or by marching and voting.

Caught in the act, the guilty party, Israel, has continued to demand cavalierly the right to kill and deceive. The world is instructed to, first deny Israel’s genocide, then justify it or risk defenestration.

To no avail.

“Just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions,” said Jesus (New Living Translation). Verbatim, Matthew 7:20 reads: “Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”

In pointing to human action as the undeniable key to man-made reality—Dr. Hans-Hermann Hoppe’s Ethics of Argumentation go even further than did Jesus in Matthew 7:20.

ISRAEL, EFFECTIVELY, CLAIMING AUTHORITY TO COMMIT GENOCIDE

Our overlords who art in D.C. and their overlords in Tel Aviv strive to condition us, at once, to watch Palestinians die daily en masse, and either justify or deny the holocaust visited on them by the Jewish State.

Countering this parallel universe being enforced by the Axis of Genocide are Dr. Hans-Hermann Hoppe’s Ethics of Argumentation. Particularly handy here is “the legal theory of ‘estoppel,’” attributed by Dr. Hoppe to Stephan Kinsella, a libertarian legal theorist. It is “the legal principle that bars a party from denying or alleging a certain fact owing to that party’s previous conduct, allegation, or denial.” (Emphasis added.)

I’d venture that still stronger than legal estoppel apparently allows is the fact that Israel is denying current and ongoing genocidal acts at the very same time it is committing them! Israel is engaged in the mother of all performative contradictions: denying genocide while committing genocide.

It is a performative contradiction, then, for Israel and its backers to dispute that the Jewish State is committing genocide at the very same time that the Jewish State is carrying out the denied deeds.

Genocide, ethnocide and domicide are, obviously, never justified and can never be exculpated. Therefore, to assert that you are just and justified as you carry out the manifest genocide, ethnocide and domicide of a people; is to not only perform a contradiction, but to embody one, all the while demanding the unique authority to carry out all of the above.

To be mired in such grotesqueries, as Israelis indubitably are, is to be less than human, less than coherent, less than sane. The Greek philosophers would have concurred.

ISRAEL HAS ACED THE GENOCIDE BAR

Laws against genocide impose no burden whatsoever on anybody other than on the sadistic, sociopathic serial killer.

Lest we be accused of arguing in circles, the concept of genocide must be reasonably qualified and clarified. And, in particular, the reference here to the positive law’s definition of the systematic, methodical annihilation of a people.

Natural-rights libertarians are seldom enamored of legal positivism, which generally conflates justice with the law of The State. Our all-too-small cohort is, for the most, wedded to the natural law, a higher law—a system of ethics knowable through reason, revelation and common sense.

“By natural law,” propounded the great Southern constitutional scholar James McClellan, in Liberty, Order, And Justice, “we mean those principles which are inherent in man’s nature as a rational, moral, and social being, and which cannot be casually ignored.”

I would further argue that even as he is mired in evil—as Israelis certainly are—man knows right from wrong full-well. He knows he is perpetrating evil even as he does so.

Since it is anchored in the very nature of man, the Natural Law is the highest law known to man, and is therefore a priori just. More often than not, any vestiges of natural law still present in the positive law have been buried under the rubble of legislation and statute.

So, while it is a rare occasion when natural-rights libertarians defer to the positive law in a positive way; it can and does happen that this or the other state law is inoffensive in that it does nothing to undermine the natural rights of man—those to his life, his liberty and his property.

To the extent that the positive law comports with the natural law—to that extent it is inoffensive. Such is the case of Article II of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, which articulates, mostly, a set of negative rights, whose enforcement imposes no burden whatsoever on anybody other than on the sadistic, sociopathic serial killer.

To Israel’s beefy genocide rap sheet one can now add another qualification: The Article II injunction that enjoins against the imposition of “measures intended to prevent births within the group.”

There are no maternal facilities left in Gaza.

It’s now well-nigh impossible to give birth safely in Gaza—unless genocide adjudicator Jake Sullivan, the U.S. national security adviser, thinks that, under her own power, a woman and her newborn can survive squatting within a spitting distance from a sewage ditch to expel that baby. Or, having her abdomen opened without anesthesia to extricate the neonate. Or trusting her preemie’s life to the oxygen “supplied” by Israel and staving off post-operative septicemia, also under her own power. Sullivan was the US point person who unveiled a dodgy dossier that commanded fusspots to quit the fuss and feathers over Israeli genocide. There is none.

Standing in for a complicit America, the dissembling Sullivan has denied that anything our Israeli “friends” have done or are doing is perpetrated “with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.”

You be the judge, dear reader. These are the four genocidal actions that preceded Israel’s last:

* “Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.”
* Killing members of the group.
* Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group.
* Direct and public incitement to commit genocide. (https://www.hrw.org/reports/2004/ij/ictr/3.htm#_Toc62641378)

On top of this, holocaust denial at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has, too, devolved into a grotesque burlesque. In its May 24 order to Israel to “immediately halt military operations in the governorate of Rafah”; the ICJ appeared to bolster the bogus demarcation between carpet-bombing Rafah and carpet-bombing the Greater Gaza.

With particular relish, Israel has continued carpet-bombing both Rafah and the Greater Gaza. Why, then, did the ICJ’s order single out the attack on Rafah alone, as “an underlying act of genocide”? Hasn’t Israel’s ongoing onslaught on the Gaza Strip in its entirety “pos[ed] … irreparable risk to the rights of the Palestinian people to be protected under the Genocide Convention and further threaten[ed] their physical destruction in whole or in part”?

There is no qualitative difference between the IDFs actions in Gaza before the invasion of Rafah and after. The incessant, industrial-scale campaign of slaughter and starvation in Gaza, north, center and south, exists on one craven continuum of crime against humanity.

What, then, was the thinking behind Rafah-as-a-red-line? The ICJ’s attempt to manufacture an imaginary line between mass murder in Rafah and genocide in the Greater Gaza is perplexing.

Reading between the lines of Washington’s pretense is hard, but I suspect the reflexive impulse in Washington was to separate genocide before Rafah from genocide after the invasion of Rafah with the aim of counting the 113,918 Palestinians murdered and maimed before Rafah as somehow “lawful,” legitimate casualties of a just war.

Washington’s attempted connivance was not reciprocated by its clients, the ingrate Israelis. The line the assassin’s sponsors had attempted to draw between murder before Rafah and murder after its invasion, soon vanished in the blood-soaked sand of the Strip’s southernmost tip. That line itself was blurred… by blood shed by Israel.

CHRONICLING A DAY IN THE LIFE …

We owe it to the holocaust survivors and their families, and to the historical record, which is vulnerable to the revisionism of Zionists.

Without let, then, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) continues to martyr, maim and displace Palestinians up and down and across the Via Dolorosa that is the Gaza Strip.

However insurmountable, and to bear witness to genocide, as we must—Gaza’s dead must be counted, recited and commemorated. We owe it to the survivors and their families, and to the historical record, which is vulnerable to the revisionism of Zionists.

Selfless angel that she is, Nurse Johnston had flown to Gaza on a medical mission of mercy organized by the Palestinian American Medical Association. Back at home, in northeast Portland, after three weeks in Rafah, she wept for Gaza:

People have explosive injuries, and we are giving them Tylenol, we’re giving them Ibuprofen for an arm that’s been blown off or burns on 30 percent of their body. We went to find there was no soap, no hand sanitizer, no linens to put your patients on. So, we would come into the ICU and find patients on these plastic sheets that are degrading, lying in a pool of blood and fluids and nothing to change them on. …We can see off to our left side a puff of smoke. We can hear all the rounds of artillery and knowing we had to drive parallel to that. …Will I make it the rest of the way?

Still in Gaza, Dr. Dorotea Gucciardo of Glia had reported three weeks back that healthcare workers are now prohibited from running to the rescue without a … permit. Healers are not only being targeted, in what remains of Gaza’s systematically sundered hospitals—but they are being hampered by bureaucracy, by the Arendtian “banality of evil.”

They wait on the signature of an Eichmann.

By the time you read this—and as I write—the already underestimated number of Palestinians murdered (37,084+), maimed (84,494) and displaced (1.7 million) by The Devil’s agents will be, and is as I write, out of date. The previous sentence is already obsolete: Please substitute these updated figures of upwards of 37,396 murdered, 85,523 maimed.

Beneath Gaza’s surface lie many thousands more, buried under over 37 million tons of debris. Scrap that. Since the above sentence was penned; the figure has been updated. As of June 18, an “initial assessment” is that, “After eight months … Gaza is littered with more than 39 million tons of debris.” The debris is replete with 800,000 tons of asbestos and assorted contaminants, including 7,500 tons of unexploded ordnance (Wikipedia). It could take 14 years to clear rubble generated by the equivalent of more than three Hiroshima-strength bombs, dropped on a strip of land 25 miles long, and 3.7 to 7.5 miles wide. The time-table estimate was made in the “distant” past, January of 2024.

Notwithstanding the Israeli army’s declared “tactical pause,” the IDF wiped out 17 people on June 18. By the end of the first week of June, approximately 800 Palestinians lay dead and over 2,400 had been afflicted with life-altering injuries.

According to reports by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), those admitted to the MSF-supported Nasser and Al-Aqsa Hospitals “bore the hallmarks of intense strikes: dismemberment, severe trauma, burns, and open fractures.”

‘These attacks are the latest in a broad litany of atrocities and illustrate the type of war that Israel is fighting. Israel and its allies have repeatedly shown that there is no watershed moment or red line in this violence. The attacks now known as the flour massacre and the tent massacre—as well as the killing of aid workers and their families and the annihilation of hospitals and the health system more generally—have led to no more than weak diplomatic posturing, empty words, and staggering inaction.’

Before that, on Thursday, May 23, the Al-Aqsa Hospital treated dozens of Palestinians injured in an Israeli shelling on a welfare ministry site. Twelve people were killed in that attack. According to Dr. Khalil al-Degran, “Most of the bodies [recovered] were burnt.”

After that, between the afternoons of May 25 and May 26, more than 80 Palestinians were murdered in the span of 24 hours. Make that 81, says an updated dispatch. As I said, no sooner does one frantically jot down the numbers, than these figures become obsolete, only ever accreting.

Also on May 26, 30 people were butchered in a tent city, designated a “safe zone,” West of Rafah, close to the UNWRA headquarters. So reported the Middle East Eye.

The following day came the Rafah camp massacre. By the 27th, the butcher’s bill had soared some more: Forty five human beings were executed by the Israelis. Among their human remains were a “headless child and charred bodies.”

Two minutes and 55 seconds into a May 9 report curtesy of “Democracy Now,” a small Ghazzawi child cries: “We were baking bread… My friend died. They picked him up in pieces. Everything is in pieces.” (“Aid Worker in Gaza: ‘To Say There’s Not an Incursion in Rafah Right Now Is Patently False.”)

Behind the swirl of statistics are human beings, whose lives are grieved and whose untrammeled resilience is celebrated not by the loutish Jake Tapper or Erin Burnett or Dana Bash or Wolf Blitzer of CNN; not by BBC News, nor Sky, or MSNBC, or foofy French TV, or Fox News, or Newsmax bobbleheads. For these louts, the value of Palestinian life just doesn’t rate a mention compared to Jewish life.

On June 8, Israel, aided by the media mafia across the Global North, confirmed that over seventy Palestinians were murdered for every one of the four Israeli hostages retrieved in an American-supported raid on the Nuseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza.

During that massacre, described by the same media as a rescue, Israeli commando perfidiously, and thus illegally, used humanitarian relief vehicles as cover. This too is in character: Earlier in their genocide program, Israeli coward commando had committed a massacre in the Ibn Sina hospital in Jenin, dressed in scrubs.

Among the 274 displaced people robbed of their lives at Nuseirat were “at least 64 children.” Upwards of 700 people were wounded. “Children were shot dead. Elderly people were shot dead. Women were shot dead,” reported Gaza-based journalist Akram al-Satarri, who was at the Nuseirat refugee camp that Saturday.

Two days prior, on June 6th, the IDF had warmed up with slaughter at a United Nations-linked school, also in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 40 displaced Palestinians, among whom were 14 children, and injuring dozens more, according to officials and local media” (Al Jazeera & EI). On June 16, 41 Palestinians were killed in assorted IDF attacks.

Everything I just told you is old news. On June 23, Israeli forces hit yet another UNRWA center serving Palestinian refugees. They killed at least eight people. This murder of people queuing for food coupons followed a previous tent-city terrorist attack by Israel in Mawasi, on June 21, where 25 displaced Palestinians were killed and 50 wounded.

A new news crawl alerts me to an updated butcher’s bill: 37,598 souls have been slain since October 7; 86,032 maimed.

Scrap the above. For the fourth time within the temporal confines of this essay, I update the number of Palestinians murdered (37,626) and maimed (86,098).

One of Israel’s latest victims is Hani al-Jafarawi, a healer, the director of ambulance and emergency services in Gaza. On June 24, Israel murdered him. Rage from the heavens, Hani.

IDF war criminals appear to be programed much like their companion, Artificial Intelligence, auto-kill computer systems. Known as “Lavender,” the killer code has been applied to Gaza at large. “Lavender” is the brainchild of Israel’s notorious Unit 8200, which is comprised of a select group of mama’s boys (and a few girls), groomed to snoop, hack, and assassin in code. (Regularly recruited to Silicon Valley, to Boston’s high-tech corridor, and, presumably, to Washington State’s techno-town; these characters could be coming to a community near you, near me.)

“… I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan,” said Jesus to John in his vision at the beginning of the Book of Revelation (2:9). This “Synagogue of Satan” (Jesus’ phrase, not mine) makes up its own law of war. So long as the IDF can claim they are targeting a “Hamas fighter,” all the more so a senior Hamas resistance fighter—they, with the imprimatur of their “judiciary,” allow themselves to murder up to 100 Palestinian civilians.

As astounding and courageous as the efforts of volunteers like Nurse Johnston, her Palestinian and American team members, and UN workers have been; they pale in comparison to what Gaza’s own healthcare worker do and endure daily.

Gaza’s doctors and nurses are no longer being paid. Most are homeless, hungry and dehydrated. Many walk miles a day to tend to their patients in what remains of the teaching hospitals in which they once proudly practiced first-world medicine.

Hors de combat? Not on your life. Gaza’s healers should be out of action. They are not. On these remarkable people soldier. Salute their fallen, salute their spirit.

CO-OPTING HUMAN-RIGHTS LAW

Eviction notices floating down on Gaza are framed as merciful Evacuation notices, the obligation of ‘a moral military’ discharged.

With increasing regularity, the “use of air power” has been extended to the West Bank, “regardless of the collateral damage to children and other civilians caught in the blasts,” reports the Intercept.

Under all sorts of diabolical legal lies and loopholes—such as  that the West Bank is, too, a theater of war and that Israel is true to the international laws of war—Israel’s legal institutions, its Supreme Court included, are inclined, invariably, to exonerate the Israeli occupation forces of their crimes.

For instance, in 2006, and after making all the appropriate noises about Israel’s legal obligation to protect civilians under customary international law, the highest court concluded that it would not outlaw “targeted executions,” as the petitioning party requested, because international law was too murky about the concept and the practice.

Israel’s Supreme Court of the Non Sequitur ruled that the “lawfulness of such killings, according to the court, was to be determined according to the particular circumstances of each case.” (“The Public Committee against Torture in Israel et al. v. The Government of Israel et al., Supreme Court of Israel, 14 December 2006.”)

Israel’s systemically slippery approach to Customary International Humanitarian Law is illustrated in the “Anatomy of a Genocide” by Francesca Albanese. This UN special rapporteur on the human-rights dispensation in the West Bank and Gaza had analytically and quite brilliantly illustrated how the Israelis cloak their murderous rampages on civilians in the raiment of human-rights nomenclature.

Essentially, whoever gets hit in Gaza is forfeit by default. After all, has not the IDF, “the most moral military force in the world,” showered Gaza with Kafkaesque leaflets, sending Gazans scampering hither and yon? Has not this force for evil droned and drowned Gazans with information on how to save their sorry selves? Of course it has! Ergo, if Gazans die by US-supplied high-payload munitions; it’s on them.

Cunning without courage: This is how knaves, for the Israelis I’ve observed so far are shifty, not clever, co-opt human-rights law language to execute innocent human beings.

Or evict them. Think about it: Eviction notices floating down on Gaza are framed as merciful evacuation notices, the obligation of “a moral military” discharged.

Nonsense on stilts.

No matter who has committed a crime in my neighborhood or in its vicinity; Washington State has no right to turn me out of my home, which is mine, which I own. The state certainly has no right to pulverize my home because its agents believe outlaws hide in the neighborhood.

As to the mercy of eviction-cum-evacuation à la Israel: Gazans, one million of them, as detailed already, had been shooed from Raffah, up to Al-Mawasi, and other barren coastal stretches, rendered barren because of prior IDF blitzkriegs. There, these Palestinians many times displaced were supposed to “safely” await the next phase of Israel’s holocaustal war and twisted psychological warfare against them. A merciful evacuation, promised the sadists. “By the book,” The Torturers told the tortured.

I’m sad but not surprised to report that Al-Mawasi, “designated a humanitarian safe zone, was bombed on May the 28th. Twenty-one displaced people were murdered in their tents; “64 people were injured, including 10” with life-altering injuries.

ISRAEL’S LAW OF RULE IN THE WEST BANK

Strictly sectarian, the sensibility instantiated in Israeli law is this: ‘If a Jew is killed, that’s terrible. If an Arab is killed, that’s not good, but it’s not the end of the world.’

A combined “effort” between IDF- and security force soldiers and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem is responsible for pogroms in which over 528 Palestinians have been murdered since October 7, among whom were 126 children.

By their lonesome, the soldier-supported West Bank settlers have murdered ten Palestinians in the territory in this time. No arrests are made. Israeli “lawlessness has become the law” in the West Bank, concedes the New York Times (NYT).

The NYT has facilitated Israel’s October 7 hoaxes of mass, systemic rape, butchered bellies and beheaded babies—“atrocity propaganda” originally debunked by the Gray Zone, the Electronic Intifada and zei_squirrel, then seconded, belatedly, by the Times of London. A small concession though it was; the NYT has seen fit to excoriate the settlers, dubbing them “The Unpunished.”

The Washington Post has also deigned to document the “Israeli settler rampage” against Palestinians whose “homes are burned and animals killed” across the West Bank. (April 16, 2024.) “[I]t is in the West Bank [that] the corrosive long-term effects of the occupation on Israeli law … are most apparent,” write New York Times magazine correspondents Ronen Bergman and Mark Mazzetti. “The long arc of harassment, assault and murder of Palestinians by Jewish settlers is twinned with a shadow history, one of silence, avoidance and abetment by Israeli officials.” (“The Unpunished: How Extremists Took Over Israel,” May 16, 2024.)

In all the West Bank cases examined by the Times’ authors, “involving [settler] misdeeds as diverse as stealing livestock and assault and arson, not a single suspect was charged with a crime; in one case, a settler shot a Palestinian in the stomach while an Israel Defense Forces soldier looked on, yet the police questioned the shooter for only 20 minutes, and never as a criminal suspect, according to an internal Israeli military memo.” (Ibid)

Strictly sectarian, the sensibility instantiated in Israeli law is this: “If a Jew is killed, that’s terrible. If an Arab is killed, that’s not good, but it’s not the end of the world.”

Adjacent, in the Negev, Bedouin homes are demolished, too, and hundreds evicted, their land grabbed. Eviction or demolition: Fear of the same is part of Palestinian life in the West Bank and beyond.

Palestinian farmers and the sheepherders of the South Hebron Hills live in daily fear for their lives and the lives of families and livestock. Spite and sadism drive settlers to slaughter these helpless creatures with biblical cruelty. (Proud members and donors would like to hear PETA say/do something about saving animals dying alongside their owners in Gaza and the West Bank.)

It is said that serial killers start with animals. Animals and children: For Israeli soldiers and settlers, assaults on the most vulnerable of living beings is all in a day’s work.

PALESTINIANS VALIDATED VIA ARGUMENTATION

The Hoppean principle applied in this essay’s opening catches Israel in the act of denying genocide while committing genocide. The same argumentation serves, in our coda, to validate the Palestinians’ reality, as they have been telling it to a mostly unbelieving universe (myself included) over decades. [used in intro but will reuse]

The Hoppean proposition deployed to trace the contours of Israel’s reality is this: Israel can’t deny it is engaged in genocide as it enacts genocide. Since it does, it must be seen as performing a lie for which it deserves the contempt reserved for those who are mired in and embody lies and contradictions.

Using the same meta-principle, Israel’s televised genocide has corroborated the reality of the Palestinians—their reasons for resentment and resistance—as they’ve been telling it to the world.

Palestinians have told us they’re being killed and robbed as a matter of course. Their reality has been irrefutably affirmed since October 7.

Gaza is a desert of the dead and the dying. It has been rendered thus by Israel’s unrelenting, methodical extermination operations carried out against the people of Gaza, against the infrastructure and against the verdant land that had supported the Strip’s people.

Differently put: Palestinians under Israel are perhaps the most imperiled people in the world.  If the proponents of Israel’s genocide in Gaza were to deny this; they’d be living a lie. To expose the liar’s life of lies; the denier of the Palestinian reality ought to be compelled to live his own lie. How would our holocaust denier be forced into performing or living his lie?

Like this: The denier of the Palestinian holocaust would have to be parachuted into the midst of the living ghosts of Gaza. He would be filmed as he lives the life of a Palestinian, running hither and yon as the tanks advance on him, or ducking-and-diving during bombardments from above, as if one can escape the death radius of a 2000- or 500 pound, American-made bomb.

The denier of the Palestinian holocaust would be recorded scratching for scraps, lugging jerricans of brackish, contaminated drinking water back to his nylon dwelling, clambering over kilometers of decaying structures, through ruins and twisted metal. Our camera’s viewfinder will find the denier queuing with thousands to use a single functioning toilet, plumbing having been pulverized by the Israelis. He or she would be taped up-close in the throes of dysentery, sepsis, and starvation; intubated or cannulated or amputated or C-sectioned without narcotics, writhing on a hospital floor as slippery as an abattoir, listening to the incessant whirring above of Israel’s killer-cum-spy drones.

Over nine months, in real time, Gazans have been worn to a shadow before our eyes. We thus know the ontological truth about Palestinian plight under Israeli occupation. It is as they have been telling it.

QED. Points proven.

Let us not commit the Sin of Abstraction—the sin of escaping into theory, and in so doing, avoiding reality—the reality of Israel’s real sins, real crimes, the crime of all crimes ~ilana

When Americans reflect on history’s tragedies and travesties, they habitually extol the virtue of Pax Americana, but never the horrors of it. Having shaped the annals of the past, regime historians, naturally, speak a great deal about Hitler, but hardly at all about Hiroshima.

With regard to the historic retrospective on the American-enabled genocide in Gaza—you know, when the agile liars who monopolize the discourse plead their case—the Electronic Intifada’s director, Ali Abunimah, renders his verdict on humanity’s inaction in response to Israel’s barbarity.

Mr. Abunimah gets to the quick of the human experience, and I paraphrase:

If you did nothing and said nothing during the genocide of the Gazans, we know exactly what you would have done during the genocide of the Jews.

Nothing.

With the exception of countless, selfless healers and humanitarians, heroes all, humanity has, by and large, abandoned the Palestinians of Gaza. This collective silence must not be forgiven nor forgotten, seconds Dr. Tarek Loubani, a physician, and the medical director of the Glia project, currently operating with great difficulty in Gaza.

“When I was in Ukraine,” attested Dr. Loubani, who had brought his medical team to that battle theater, too, “I never worried that the Russians would bomb me.” The Russians absolutely obey the imperative to protect and respect medical teams. In Gaza, all medical teams are forfeit, fair targets for extermination by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

On that grim score, “More than 685 health workers have been killed and 900 wounded during attacks on medical facilities and medical transport” in the course of Israel’s onslaught. This last Wikipedia account is likely, you guessed it, already outdated. How many more of Gaza’s healers have disappeared into the maw of the Israeli Security State? Many hundreds, reports The Intercept, an influential American news site.

Speaking to the Electronic Intifada, which is described as “Palestine’s weapon of mass instruction,” Dr. Loubani gave one of the most lucid renderings of the unremitting acts of a “genocidal, maniacal army in Gaza,” operating unhindered. Like Mr. Abunimah, he spoke emphatically to the imperative not to forgive those who’ve done nothing and said nothing, conveniently, until now.

If you have been silent so far—or, enveloped by the warm smell of a growing herd are conveniently piping up eight months into the sacking of Gaza—you must not be forgiven.

Historically, Mr. Abunimah’s aphorism tracks with the manner in which most of conservatism’s celebrity pundits had comported themselves during the ramp-up to the war on Iraq, for that war’s duration, and with how most have been conducting themselves in the course of Israel’s unimpeded genocide against Gazans (the Ghazzawi?).

Kelly Conservatives (Bonus Material & Background)

I am not here speaking of unserious conservatives, like podcaster Megyn Kelly, for example, who deserves mention if only because, dear reader, you deserve some levity and laughter occasionally.

If nothing else, it is amusing to hear the Kelly vanity production call out America’s campus kids, selfless souls protesting a holocaust, for being unattractive, ugly. To an empty vessel, there is nothing worse than forgetting your facial fillers and falsies.

Myself, I think that Mohammad Khatami, a software engineer arrested at the sit-in at Google’s office in New York, is beatifically beautiful. Techie Ray Westrick, arrested in California, also in protest of Project Nimbus—some kind of killer-Cloud-AI collaboration with IsraHell—is supermodel lovely. (Roll the tape or scroll down this text to look.)

Still on the topic of the Kelly conservatives who missionize for mass-murder: I have to wonder who’s truly ugly deep down, Megyn?

How about the pampered LA Zionist thugs who took metal rods to the sculls of peaceful encampment protesters? How about those doing their evil utmost to logistically hamper “humanitarian aid deliveries at scale” to Gaza? How about the sated Jewish settlers and their doughy offspring, fat families, instructing their larded young on how to help starve other human beings? How about the observant IDF soldier, tooting, during a telephone interview, his religious platoon’s acts of murder and torture in Gaza, all in fluid, contempt-dripping, American-accented English?

Bombastic without and barren within: The IDF collective might wear fatigues, but it does nothing to camouflage its libertine, licentious, sexually depraved, pornographic culture.

The culture comes from the top:

His flesh softer than sin, Rabbi Col. Eyal Karim, the head of the military rabbinate of the Israel Defense Forces, had indicated, in 2016, that “as part of maintaining fitness for the army and the soldiers’ morale during fighting, it is permitted to …satisfy the evil inclination by lying with attractive Gentile women against their will… .” News of the rabbinical rape-injunction came courtesy of Israel’s YnetNews.com.

Similarly, before it discovered that the “Goyim” were repulsed—the “Most Moral Army in the World” had been operating an “exclusive-content” “channel to share the gruesome killing of Palestinians.” This IDF-run public war-porn channel, out of Israel, served up content in which murder was sauced-up or overlaid by sex talk.

Such patterns of arousal—the commingling of serial killing and sex—are associated with psychopathy. The psychopathic fusion of lust and murder appears endemic among IDF soldiers. The channel, which catered to Israeli audiences, was called “72 Virgins – Uncensored.” How cruel. The revelation comes via Ha’aretz, an august Israeli news source.

National-Interest Pragmatism

Back to the point: To the extent they oppose the genocide in Gaza; conservatives, some with enormous populist and political sway, have confined themselves to disinterested mumblings about the national interest: Gaza is of no national interest to the United States of America. Bye-bye. Off to distract the masses with prattle about the wokerati.

This is how podcaster Matt Walsh obtained absolution from Pope Ben Shapiro, who declared Walsh kosher to continue “creating” content on Shapiro’s Israel First, talentless platform. Walsh is purported to have told Grand Inquisitor Shapiro that supporting a war on Gazans isn’t in the US’s interest. Since he did not say that Total War on Palestinian civilians is wicked and wrong; Walsh was good to go.

The only inquiry this national-interest pragmatism permits is a cost-benefit calculus: Will this or the other assassination or military maneuver pay strategic dividends for America or Israel in the long run—although even then, the benefits of so-called national-interest military interventions redound to special interests, not to constituents.

For many reasons, such stark, statist utilitarianism is “the lazy man’s dodge” (to use a phrase by Jeffrey Sach, a prince among intellectual and moral scullions). I need not remind media conservatives that the US is already an interventionist hegemon, and is now aiding and abetting a war of extermination in Gaza.

The premise of pure, national-interest political pragmatism, moreover, leads to the following, perverse conclusions:

If enabling the slaughter of Gazans and the murder and displacement of Iraqis happened to be in the American national interest; then those “endeavors” would have been—are—justified, in accordance with national-interest standards. What a way to let the regime wriggle out of responsibility for wanton killing and perpetrate more: “It was good for the country. USA. USA.”

I’m well-aware that the killer conclusion does indeed follow logically from the national-interest premise. Behold Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where mass murder was calculated by American leaders to be in the “national interest,” and was, consequently, deemed legitimate. Their logical consistency aside, both premise and conclusion are, nevertheless, perverse in the extreme.

National-interest utilitarianism is thus not wrong in logic, but it is often wrong in ethics.

Natural-Law Principles

Whereas the paleolibertarian’s fidelity is to natural-law principles anchored in thinking as ancient and as true as Cicero’s; the foreign policy of the conservative hard right is largely a reductive, national-interest-focused statism.

By virtue of its crass pragmatism, the national-interest camp only ever debates whether the U.S. government or Israel should or shouldn’t act on their divine rights as judge, jury and executioner. It is never over what’s right, what’s wrong, and what’s plain wicked.

To be fair, many good, conservative-minded individuals abhor Israel’s deeds, but have an issue with restraining the mass-murdering Jewish Taliban through United Nations mechanisms such as the Security Council, the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ). They are opposed to U.S. membership in the UN on sovereignty grounds and do not recognize or support UN Security Council actions or those of the ICC/ICJ.

Let me try and help dispel this mindset with an example.

A Palestinian woman is being raped by IDF in the Occupied Territories, where the rabbinical injunction on rape, handed down by Rabbi Col. Eyal Karim, aforementioned, obtains. (The evidence for sexual violence in Gaza is credible, says the UN special rapporteur on violence against women and girls.)

A United Nations trooper passes by on patrol. What shall he do? He calls his paymaster, an American conservative, a strict ideologue who opposes the UN and thinks Israel hung the moon. This conservative confuses levels of abstraction—reality vs. ideology. Since our conservative lives in the arid arena of pure thought—he tells the soldier, “Oh no. You work for an organization my group hates. We refuse to deploy a UN soldier to rescue the woman. Walk away.”

Those of us who live in the here-and-now, and refuse to levitate between “what is” and “what ought-to-be,” say the following:

“Never mind who you work for, sir. Quit dawdling. Rescue the woman. Apprehend the rapist.” The means of administering a modicum of justice here are immaterial. You take what you’ve got. Better that the UN soldier does something, than not one person does a thing.

The Sin Of Abstraction

In other words, the opposition among the national-interest camp to the only flaccid response mounted against Satan-on-earth rests on theoretical abstractions.

The confused camp commits the Sin of Abstraction—the sin of escaping into theory, and, in so doing, avoiding reality, the reality of Israel’s real sins, real crimes, the crime of all crimes.

The idea, moreover, that upholding the negative rights of a butchered, stateless people is tantamount to calling for foreign intervention in the affairs of a sovereign state, Israel, is, if not problematic, certainly open to debate.

Is not the concept of national sovereignty bounded by the idea of The State? Is the paleolibertarian a fan of the State? No, he isn’t.

Theoretically, at least, many libertarians do not recognize The State. Certainly most libertarians would concede that The State now acts extra-judicially, and that any vestiges of the natural law once embedded in the US Constitution have long-since been buried beneath the rubble of legislation and statute.

Why, then, would libertarians lay off a State, Israel, that uses its military might to pulverize population centers and has systematized the mass murder of innocent Palestinian civilians as targets for Total War?

One can say, then, that to the extent the law, most law—local or international or tribal—upholds no more than natural rights, the law is good. To the extent it violates the right to life, liberty, and property—the law is bad. In the matter of Israel’s genocidal program against the Palestinians of Gaza; it is my position that, it matters not who upholds Gazans’ inalienable right to life, liberty and property, just so long as someone does.

For no one has the right to kill an innocent human being, let alone tens of thousands of them, without let. (June 8: 210 Palestinians have been murdered and more than 400 wounded in Israel’s latest massacre, this time at the Nuseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza.)

By logical extension, it matters not who saves innocent human beings—which state, which federal official or international organization, or which quixotic private platoon—just so long as someone does.

In America, federalism means “divided sovereignty,” which, if we are to take James Madison seriously, ought to make it difficult for states to begin executing their citizens. Why would it be a matter of respect for a country’s “sovereignty” to allow Israel to systematically execute its subjugated populations?

Without a doubt, The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is the voice of the Jewish-Israeli commonwealth ~ilana

The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) continues to martyr the Palestinians, as it marches them up and down and across the Via Dolorosa that is the Gaza Strip.

By the time you read this—and as I write—the number of Palestinians murdered, maimed and displaced by The Devil’s agents will be, already is, out of date.

Jump a level of abstraction, from the torrid reality engulfing Palestinians, to meditate upon the meaning of what I just said.

On the meta level—the very act of updating the numbers of the dead and displaced in the narrow time-space of a topical essay is significant. It speaks to the industrial-levels and methods of murder adopted by the IDF. It speaks to a genocide, ethnocide and domicide to which we must bear witness as best we can, with the hope that the story of Palestinian travail will end in triumph.

RAFAH, RIP, SITS ON A CONTINUUM OF GENOCIDE

Like the numbers of Palestinians murdered and maimed, the debate over Rafah—to invade or not to invade—is already out-of-date or obsolete. Rafah was nothing but a fleeting and artificial demarcation, concocted reflexively by partners to genocide, Israel and America.

The reflexive instinct of Israel and its American cobelligerent, in my opinion, was to separate genocide before Rafah from genocide after the invasion of Rafah.

With so much fuss and feathers over Rafah-as-a-red-line; the complicit parties likely felt that the 35,091 Palestinians killed and the 78,827 injured before Rafah could be made to stick in the public’s head as somehow “lawful,” legitimate casualties of “war.”

While the contrived and cynical talking point was being “performed” in the media, by early May, the IDF dogs of war had already set upon Rafah, an urban setting ringed by the tents of refugees, with characteristic ferocity. The incessant, industrial-scale campaign of slaughter and starvation in Gaza, north, center and south, alas, exists on one craven continuum of evil. There is no qualitative difference between the IDFs actions in Gaza before the invasion of Rafah and after.

Having been corralled capriciously hither and yon; from the north down to the south, and up again; Gazans have now been shooed from Raffah, at the southern tip of The Strip, where the refugees had huddled helplessly, up to Al-Mawasi, and other barren coastal stretches, rendered barren because of prior IDF blitzkriegs.

There, these Palestinians many times displaced will await the next phase of Israel’s holocaustal war—an adjective used by American novelist John Updike, who wrote before the high-priests and elders of the Anti-Defamation League issued linguistic restrictions—and twisted psychological warfare against them.

By May 12, and in tandem with the assault on Rafah and the near-closing of that single humanitarian corridor—Israel’s serial killers had begun  “revisiting” Northen Gaza, starting with the bombing of Jabalia. However, and to be clear, tank shelling and aerial interdictions across the Gaza Strip, from Jabalia to Deir al Balah down to Rafah, have been a non-stop, continual reality for Gazans, courtesy of the gleeful IDF.

Keeping up with the number of casualties Palestinians sustain from hour to hour since the contrived, orchestrated debate over Rafah was begun is impossible.

Six-hundred thousand people, who were herded down to Rafah, are on the move, having since been uprooted again. Sixty people perished on May 9. (Democracy Now!) “Between the afternoons of 13 and 15 May … 142 Palestinians were killed and 314 were injured, including 60 killed and 80 injured in the last 24 hours,” reported the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). At least 1.7 million Palestinians have been displaced, and 1.1 million, mostly children, are starving. Quit the “food insecurity” euphemism. Israel is starving them.

As I said, no sooner does one jot the numbers down than they become obsolete, only ever accreting. In their cunning tradition of co-opting the language of human-rights law in order to violate it; the Israelis frame eviction as merciful evacuation. The number of evictions aforementioned (600,000) has now swelled since the previous paragraph. Eight-hundred thousand people have been displaced from Rafah in the last two weeks.

The American Idolaters are still claiming that all this is a tidy lie. Conditions in Gaza belie what our “lying eyes” tell us. I continue to recommend a variation on Richard Pryor’s wry wisdom about he who has been caught in flagrante delicto. The reader must believe his eyes, not the lying Israelis. Believe the evidence in front of your eyes. The Israelis and their Israel First American enablers are, plainly put, lying.

Since I updated the numbers above, a new chyron crawled across my mobile screen: 35,233 murdered; 79,141 maimed, in addition to the thousands who’ve been buried beneath tons of rubble—”37 million tons of bomb-filled debris that could take 14 years to clear.”

The numbers just jotted down above are already out-of-date. Today, May 18, 28 Palestinians perished. Add to the 28, nine more murdered since I completed the previous sentence. And ten more human beings in an IDF assault on the Kaman Adwan hospital (attacked before, in December of 2023). I cannot furnish you with confirmation for these last lives lost because international and American media, Israel idolaters all, do not report from within Gaza. And Google’s algorithms don’t facilitate the public propagation of information transmitted by heroic Palestinian reporters and humanitarian aid workers, whose lived experience this horror is.

While the Kerem Shalom Crossing “is [barely] operational,” the Israelis and their rampaging settlerswho’s truly ugly, Megyn Kelly? In and out?—are doing their utmost to logistically hamper “humanitarian aid deliveries at scale.”

Medics, American and other, are being denied access to adequate food, water and safe passage in and out of Gaza. Indeed, the Israelis have all but shuttered the last humanitarian corridor, the Rafah border crossing into Egypt, trapping many medics inside Gaza. There are many more entrances into Gaza, which Biden could easily order opened forthwith. But, but… if Biden and Blinken’s bosom buddies, the Israelis, close the last humanitarian corridor into Gaza, well then… Remind me how that saying, writ on the American heart, goes? “Israel shares our values.”

A ‘LUNATIC STATE’: THE BANALITY OF EVIL

Gaza, clearly, is an easy case in ethics. It’s not as though the genocide underway in Gaza could ever be finessed or gussied up. In teasing out right from wrong, discriminate we must between acts that are criminal only because The State has criminalized them (mala prohibita), as opposed to acts which are universally evil (malum in se). Israel’s sacking of Gaza is malum in se, universally evil.

Yet, from Israel’s public figures, we’ve come to expect only lower-order, undeveloped reasoning. In Israel, no atrocity perpetrated by the IDF is too conspicuous to ignore.

One of the foremost authorities on Gaza, Dr. Norman Finkelstein, calls Israel a Lunatic State. “It is certainly not a Jewish State,” he observes. “A murderous nation, a demonic nation,” roars Scott Ritter—legendary, larger-than-life American military expert, to whose predictive, reliable reports from theaters of war I’ve been referring since 2002.

Max Blumenthal, another younger, yet important authority on the topic, upends a delusion I had held as a youth growing up in Israel. The doves—as the Israeli “peace camp” was called in common parlance—(Shulamit Aloni and Peace Now were pioneers) had inspired me many decades back. Blumenthal, a guerrilla journalist who has done the shoe-leather inquiry into the occupation, chronicled the strategy of the “peace camp” in Goliath, Life and Loathing in the Greater Israel (2013).

The antitype to the Ugly Israeli are the Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem and dedicated journalists such as Ha’aretz’ Amira Haas and Gideon Levi. But, as October 7 proved, the peaceniks, with these few exceptions, generally proceed from backing the Jewish State’s regular and murderous forays into the occupied territories, until the penny drops, or it becomes politically expedient to protest them. (See “Peace Now has not said ‘Ceasefire Now,’” Middle East Monitor, January 12, 2024.)

Even in protest, the Israeli “peace camp,” over the years, has generally been starkly utilitarian: pragmatic, not principled, objecting not to Palestinian “civilian casualties,” but to Israeli “strategic” blunders.

To wit, sensing that the country is in danger of approaching some sort of political precipice; 17 Israeli establishment public figures have, of late, urged the recognition of a Palestinian state. In the words of one Alon Liel they are worried about “Israel’s international [and regional] standing.” Could it be that what we have here is projection; fears for their own respectability in international circles?

That kind of thing: a position self-interested and pragmatic, seldom-principled. Certainly nothing anchored in first principles.

In contemplating the Jewish-Israeli me-only monomania; Lawrence Kohlberg’s stages of moral development come to mind.

The highest stage of thinking and functioning is “Stage Six,” in which the individual reasons and behaves in accordance with “universal ethical principles.” The highest moral development, reasoning from ethics, will forever evade most of humanity. Arrested in some early stage of development, Israel’s public personae reveal themselves as base, unimpressive individuals who’ve yet to attain the ability to reason from ethics.

The banality of evil, if you will.

PUBLIC PROTEST IN ISRAEL: ME-ME MORALITY

What, then, of the Jewish-Israeli anti-government protests now flooding the streets of metropolitan Israel?

In desperate search for a universal humanity—a transcendent moral sensibility—among the mass of Israelis protesting the State; I scoured many transcripts over seven months. I sat through volumes of video footage, searching as I was for mention, by Israeli protesters, of the war of extermination being waged in their name, on their Gazan neighbors. I found none.
Much to my astonishment, I failed to come across a single Israeli protester who cried for anyone but himself, his kin and countrymen, and their hostages. Israelis appear oblivious to the unutterable, irreversible, irremediable ruin adjacent.

Again: I found no transcendent humanity among Israeli protesters; no allusion to the universal moral order to which international humanitarian law, the natural law and the Sixth Commandment give expression. I found only endless iterations among Jewish-Israelis of their sectarian interests.

Protesters merely want regime change. They saddle Netanyahu solely with the responsibility for hostages entombed in Gaza, although, Benny Gantz (National Unity Party), ostensible rival to Bibi Netanyahu (Likud), and other War Cabinet members, are philosophically as one (Gantz had boasted, in 2014, that he would “send parts of Gaza back to the Stone Age”). With respect to the holocaustal war waged on Gaza, and spreading to the West Bank, there is no chasm between these and other squalid Jewish supremacists who make up “Israel’s wartime leadership.”

If you doubt my findings vis-à-vis the Israeli protesters, note the May 11 droning address of protester Na’ama Weinberg, who demanded a change of government. Weinberg condemned the invasion of Rafah and a lack of a political strategy as perils to both hostage- and national survival. She lamented the “unspeakable torture” faced by the hostages. When Weinberg mentioned “evacuees neglected,” I lit up. My hope was fleeting. It soon transpired that she meant citizens of Israeli border communities evacuated. That was the extent of Weinberg’s sympathies for the “slaughter house of civilians” down the road. Nothing but a lower-order sectarian sensibility.

The grim spareness of Israeli protester sentiment has been widely noticed.

Writing for Foreign Policy, an American mainstream magazine, Mairav Zonszein, scholar with the International Crisis Group, observes the following:

The thousands of Israelis who are once again turning out to march in the streets are not protesting the war. Except for a tiny handful of Israelis, Jews, and Palestinians, they are not calling for a cease-fire or an end to the war—or for peace. They are not protesting Israel’s killing of unprecedented numbers of Palestinians in Gaza or its restrictions on humanitarian aid that have led to mass starvation. (Some right-wing Israelis even go further by actively blocking aid from entering the strip.) They are certainly not invoking the need to end military occupation, now in its 57th year. They are primarily protesting Netanyahu’s refusal to step down and what they see as his reluctance to seal a hostage deal.

Public incitement continues apace. Genocidal statements saturate Israeli society. The “lovely” Itamar Ben Gvir has provided an update to his repertoire, the kind chronicled so well by the South Africans, this one included. (See “Hermetically Sealed Indictment Of The Jewish Taliban’s Mass Murder And Ethnic Cleansing In Gaza”).

On May 14, to the roar of the crowd, Israel’s national security minister urged anew that Palestinians be voluntarily encouraged to emigrate (as if anything that has befallen the Palestinians of Gaza, since October 7, has been “voluntary”). He was speaking at a settler rally on the northern border of Gaza, in which thousands of yahoos watched the “fireworks” on display over Gaza, and cheered for looting the land of the dead and dying there.

PRIVATE MEDIA IN ISRAEL: IDF EMBEDS

“The media, the media,” you’ll protest. “Israelis, like Americans, are merely brainwashed by their media.”

Inarguably, Israeli media—from Arutz 7, to Channel 12 (“[Gazans need] to die ‘hard and agonizing deaths’), to Israel Today, to Now 14 (“We will slaughter you and your supporters”), and the lowbrow, sub-intelligent vulgarians of i24—are a self-obsessed, energetic Idiocracy.

These media feature excitable sorts, volubly imparting their atavistic, primitive tribalism in ugly, anglicized, Pidgin Hebrew. And, each one of these specimen always has a “teoria”: a theory.
Naveh Dromi is a lot more appealing in visage and voice than i24’s anchor Benita Levin, a harsh and vinegary South African Kugel. Dromi is columnist for a Ha’aretz, the most highbrow of Israel’s (center-left) dailies. Ha’aretz once had intellectual ballast. In her impoverished Hebrew, Dromi has tweeted about her particular “teoria”: “a second Nakba” is a coming. Elsewhere she has rasped a-mile-a-minute about “the Palestinians as a redundant group.” Nothing crimsons her lovely cheeks.

Such statements of Jewish supremacy pervade Jewish-Israeli media. But, no; it’s not the Israeli media’s fault. The closing of the Israeli mind is entirely voluntary.

According to a paper from Oxford Scholarship Online, the “media landscape in Israel” evinces “healthy competition” and declining concentration. “[C]alculated on a per-capita basis,” “the number of media voices in Israel,” overall, “is near the top of the countries investigated.”
Israel has a robust, and privately owned media. These media cater to the Israeli public, which has a filial stake in lionizing the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in which each and every son and daughter serve. For this reason, avers Ha’aretz’s Gideon Levi, in his many YouTube television interviews, the military is the country’s golden calf.

Mainstream public opinion, Levi insists, molds the media, not the obverse.

Levi attests that right-wing and left-wing media are as one when it comes to the subject of the IDF and the Palestinian People. And in this, Israeli media reflect mainstream public opinion. It is the public that wishes to see nothing of the suffering in Gaza, and takes care never to disparage or doubt the IDF. For their part, military journalists are no more than embeds, in bed with the military.

At least until now, Israelis have been largely indifferent to their army’s orgiastic, indiscriminate bloodletting in Gaza. Most were merely demanding a return of their hostages, and the continuance of the assault on Gazans, punctured by periodic cease fires.

IS JEWISH-ISRAELI SOCIETY SICK, TOO?

As uncomfortable as it is for the libertarian methodological individualist; the facts dictate, alas, that, on the matter of the mass murder of the Palestinians of Gaza; Jewish-Israeli society does not stand apart from the Jewish State.

When “88 percent of Jewish-Israeli interviewees” give “a positive assessment of the performance of the IDF in Gaza until now” (Tamar Hermann, “War in Gaza Survey 9,” Israel Democracy Institute, January 24, 2024), and “[a]n absolute majority (88%) also justifies the scope of casualties on the Palestinian side”; (Gershon H. Gordon, The Peace Index, January 2024, Faculty of Social Sciences, Tel Aviv University)—it is fair to conclude that the diabolical IDF is, for the most, the voice of the Jewish-Israeli commonwealth.

Consider: By January’s end, the Gaza Strip had, by and large, already been rendered uninhabitable, a moonscape. Nevertheless, 51 percent of Jewish-Israelis said they believed the IDF was using an appropriate amount (51%) or not enough force (43%) in Gaza. (Source: Jerusalem Post staff, “Jewish Israelis believe IDF is using appropriate force in Gaza,” January 26, 2024.)

Note: Polled opinion was not split between Israelis for genocide and Israelis against it. Rather, the division in Israeli society appeared to be between Jewish-Israelis for current levels of genocide versus those for greater industry in what were already industrial-levels and methods of murder.

Attitudes in Israel have only hardened since: By mid-February, 58 percent of this Jewish cohort was grumbling that not enough force had been deployed to date; and 68 percent did “not support the transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza.” (Jerusalem Post Staff, “Majority of Jewish Israelis opposed to demilitarized Palestinian state,” February 21, 2024.)

Scrap the “hardened” verb. Attitudes in Jewish Israel have not merely hardened, but bear the hallmarks of societal sociopathy.

When asked, in particular, “to what extent should Israel take into consideration the suffering of the Palestinian population when planning the continuation of the fighting there,” Jewish-Israelis sampled have remained consistent through the months of the onslaught on Gaza, from late in October of 2023 to late in March of 2024. The Israel Democracy Institute, a polling organization, found that,

[D]espite the progress of the war in Gaza and the harsh criticism of Israel from the international community regarding the harm inflicted on the Palestinian population, there remains a very large majority of the Jewish public who think that Israel should not take into account the suffering of Palestinian civilians in planning the continuation of the fighting. By contrast, a similar majority of the Arab public in Israel take the opposite view, and think this suffering should be given due consideration. (Tamar Hermann, Yaron Kaplan, Dr. Lior Yohanani, “War in Gaza Survey 13,” Israel Democracy Institute, March 26, 2024.)

Large majorities of the Israeli Center (71 percent) and on the Right (90 percent) say that “Israel should only take into account the suffering of the Palestinian population to a small extent or should not do so at all.”

Let us, nevertheless, end this canvas with the “good” news: On the “bleeding heart” Israeli Left; “only” (I’m being cynical) 47 percent of a sample “think that Israel should not take into consideration the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza or should do so only to a small extent, while 50 percent think it should consider their plight to a fairly large or very large extent.” (Ibid.)

In other words, the general run of the Jewish-Israeli Left tends to think that the plight of Gazans should be considered, but not necessarily ended.

On the facts, and, as I have had to, sadly, show here, both the Israeli state and civil society are driven by Jewish supremacy, the kind that sees little to no value in Palestinian lives and aspirations.

LIBERTARIAN METHODOLOGICAL INDIVIDUALISM

That the Jewish State is genocidal is not in dispute. But, commensurate with the surveys shared above, and as many have quite reasonably concluded, Jewish-Israeli civil society is sick, too.

But if such generalizations can be made; don’t they betray the libertarian fidelity to methodological individualism?

No. Stating statistical verities does not violate methodological individualism.

Methodological individualism does not mandate that aggregate group traits be denied. Rather, methodological individualism correctly practiced means that generalizations are to be considered, while each and every individual is treated on his merit, and not conflated with the group.

Provided they are substantiated by hard evidence, not hunches, generalizations are not incorrect. To the contrary: Science relies on the ability to generalize to the larger population observations drawn from representative samples.

Human action is governed by probabilities and generalities. People make prudent personal and economic decisions in their daily lives as to where scarce and precious resources—one’s life and property—are best invested. They do so based on reliable, aggregated data or on shared common-sense assessments.

When broad statements and assessments about aggregate group characteristic are both true and crucial to our understanding; libertarian methodological individualists needn’t demand that these be expunged from our formulations.

So, while we must take great care as libertarian methodological individualists to separate state from society, and each member of society from the next—treating each individual on his or her merit in our dealings—generalizations about certain group characteristics are, in aggregate, valid. They do not in any way flout the imperative to treat each and every individual as an individual.

We risk disarming ourselves of the firearm of truth, analytical and empirical, if we discard the aggregate group findings surveyed so far.

With shuddering clarity, I can say then, that, in symbiosis, Israel—state, society—and its Anglo-European sponsors share the blame for the sacking of Gaza. Israelis, by and large, have become a solipsistic sorority of Jewish supremacists. Palestinians have paid a terrible price for this systemic Israeli sociopathy.

My last dispatch here is yet a third update to the butcher’s bill: 35,303 Palestinians have now been reported killed, 79,261 injured. And 900,000 people, 40 percent of Gaza’s population, are now displaced.

Just remember that behind the swirl of statistics are human beings, a society of them.

This is not a Whodunit. The serial killers are known to us, are friends of ours, are supported by us. ~ilana

Speech should be free, unfettered and as wild and as wanton as can be. So long as no violence accompanies such speech or behavior; so long as mitts stop at the next man’s face (or at the next mutt’s fury face, Kristi Noem); it’s all speech. ~ilana

American foreign policy is a museum of horrors in which Gaza 2023/2024 is the main exhibit.

It is my conviction that Gaza is much more than just one more American foreign-policy failure, an event and topic to swill around like mouth wash, spit out and move on, once the usual “tsk, tsk” bromides have been disgorged.

Uncle Sam’s usual deathly mixture of ignorance, cruelty and superiority has been exceeded with respect to Gaza. It is my belief that the United States’ open, even-energetic support for genocide is a defining event in the annals of American foreign-policy aberrations—repeatedly and vigorously vetoing UN Security Council resolutions against Israel’s atrocities, justifying Israel’s violations of the law, as well as, alternatively, pretending these violations had never occurred and making like the laws of man and the laws of God don’t apply to Israel.

This American failure is probably qualitatively different from blunders that went before. What the United States has approved in Gaza is the crime of all crimes, appallingly carried out in broad daylight.

Duly, the annihilation of a community and the landmass that supports it has been achieved. The arteries of supplies that sustain this Palestinian society are all but closed. The mass murder of members of the targeted group proceeds apace. Daily. Shamelessly. Before our very eyes. And as I write.

It is the case of the senile (Joe Biden) supporting the criminally insane (Israel).

To press my point: Mass graves are uncovered near the ruins of the Nasser and al-Shifa hospitals. Therein hundreds of Palestinians have been interred, bodies stacked, some handcuffed, others still tethered to medical tubes. The White House’s response amounts to, “Where, what, who, and how can this possibly be? Who could have done this horrible thing? Yes, we, too, want answers right away. Let’s do the forensics. Let’s ask the Israelis to look into it, shall we? See you tomorrow.”

This is not a Whodunit, you feckless, malevolent morons.

The serial killers are known to us. We know who murdered over 34,183 Palestinians and maimed an estimated 77,143. The serial killers loosed on millions of Gazans—their guns at the ready, pointed at the civilians huddled in the southern tip of the Strip—these are friends of ours.

Empowered by Empire, Israeli serial killers are not on-the-lam, running from the Law. They are free to come-and-go, to travel, to hobnob; at liberty to enjoy undeserved freedoms, as their innocent victims are confined, held captive, catacombed, awaiting death by one or another diabolical means. In fact, the serial killers of the Palestinians of Gaza are proudly paraded as freedom fighters in their country of Israel, and are backed and exculpated by the powerful in our own country, the United States of America.

Support for Israel’s offensive against Gaza’s civilians comes courtesy of our carpetbagger representatives, left and right. Israel is lavished with munitions despite the fact that the American taxpayer’s endorsement of the carnage these cause began dropping in November of 2023. By late March of 2024, a Gallop poll reported that 74 percent of Americans were keenly engaged with the topic and a majority now opposed Israel’s excesses.

Even young Evangelicals might well be rethinking their allegiances.

Exquisitely sensitive to its Christian Zionist base in America, the Jerusalem Post, honestly if opportunistically, divulged that, “Young Evangelical support for Israel has plummeted. Seven out of 10 Evangelical and born-again young Evangelicals … surveyed as far back as 2021 adhere to the postmillennial and amillennial theological views, which see the Jewish people and the state of Israel as no longer necessary in the fulfillment of God’s plan for the second coming.”

So settled in their habits, indications are that the elders of the Zionist, Christian Right have failed to read their young.

Indeed, these are austere days for American leadership and reputation. By dint of undertaking the role of IDF deputy in advancing genocide in Gaza—the United States has crossed a threshold. In Gaza, Uncle Sam has finally achieved an official or formal inversion of all cherished, universal values. It has earned the “Great Satan” appellation it was once awarded.

There is a vast power differential in the US-Israel relationship. The colossus that is the American Hegemon appears helpless before the tiny Jewish State, leading one to wonder which country deserves the Great Satan moniker and which the Little One.

On the scale of national crimes and misdemeanors, Gaza is simply indefensible. And our young sense this and are incensed by it.

For now, the degenerative process in America is being halted by students. “[F]rom Massachusetts to California,” students have gathered from far and wide demanding an accounting from their representatives for the industrial-scale mass murder being carried out in their name.

Among the protest was a Jewish sit-in dubbed the “Seder-In-The-Street to Stop Arming Israel,” on the second night of the Passover. Reports “Democracy Now!”:

The demonstration, held one block away from the home of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, came just hours before the Senate overwhelmingly approved a $95 billion foreign aid package that includes about $17 billion in arms and security funding to Israel. ‘At the core of the Passover story is that we cannot be free until all people are free,’ Beth Miller, the political director of Jewish Voice for Peace, told Democracy Now! ‘The Israeli government and the United States government are carrying out a genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, over 34,000 people killed in six months in the name of Jewish safety, in the false name of Jewish freedom.

To cover his wretchedness, a foreign country’s prime minister libeled these quintessentially American, anti-genocide campus protests—which, we hope, may swell to match those begun in Columbia University in 1968, against the Vietnam War—as antisemitic, even  terroristic.

An emotionally incontinent Bibi Netanyahu called on political authority in the U.S. to sic its police on these American youngsters. This, his attack dogs, in deference to their political and paymasters—and in defiance of American First Amendment Constitutional rights of free speech and peaceable assembly—are doing.

Forgive them not; for they know not what they do.

These “antisemitism” claims-makers aim to silence and sunder dissenting free speech, one of the most cherished American (Voltairean) values, clearly not shared by our serial-killer besties. Framing loud protest against Israel as “antisemitic” is intended, very plainly, to silence opposition to the mass murder and displacement of Gazans.

The protesters across American campuses are not antisemitic. But even if they were; in America, free speech refers to the words people shout, write, tweet; the beliefs they are known to hold, the flags they fly or burn, the symbolic, non-violent ceremonies and rituals they enact, the insignia, paraphernalia, even the goose-stepping and Hitler salutes they muck around with—all this is protected speech in our country. Genocide backers, stateside and abroad, may not like it; but this speech is both constitutional and licit in natural law.

So long as these oddities and idiosyncrasies, whether performed alone or in groups, thoughts harbored or shared in public—so long as no violence accompanies such speech or behavior; so long as mitts stop at the next man’s face (or at the next mutt’s fury face, Kristi Noem); it’s all speech. It should be free, unfettered and as wild and as wanton as can be.

Provided protesters are not engaged in acts of violence against others—then the words they emit are irrelevant. Antipathy to Jews qua Jews, if expressed—for which, so far, there is only fabricated evidence—amounts to a thought “crime.”

Thought crimes are the prerogative of a free people in a free country. Americans, left and right, must join libertarians in unapologetically rejecting the very idea of policing, purging, persecuting or prosecuting people for holding or expressing politically unpopular ideas.

What next for America, after genocide-by-proxy and the murder of diplomacy”? The quest for peace. As discussed freely and openly on the HARD TRUTH Rumble podcast, both myself and Daniel McAdams, Executive Director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, were buoyed by the campus protests and wish the kids Godspeed. The Kids might just deliver Gaza from the Great and Little Satan alike.

Superlatives cannot capture the plight of these poor people. What is clear is that patience is native to their character. Palestinians might appear enslaved, but they cannot be brought into submission by any Pharaoh.

Deliverance is possible for a long-suffering people.

A HARD TRUTH podcast with Daniel McAdams Executive Director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity:

“What Next After Genocide-By-Proxy and The Murder Of Diplomacy? The Quest For Peace.”

ILANA believes that America’s open, even-energetic support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza is a defining event in the annals of American foreign policy, and that this failure is qualitatively different from blunders that went before. In its role in Gaza, Uncle Sam has finally achieved an official or formal inversion of all decent, universal values.
Former supporters of Israel, like ilana Mercer, David Vance and Daniel McAdams, Executive Director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, are aghast. Can we claw back from the precipice?
DAVID believes that US Foreign Policy in almost every respect is self-defeating although perhaps that is the aim. David makes it abundantly clear he supports Israel wiping Hamas off the face of the earth but he does NOT support the mass punishment of the people of Gaza.
To ilana’s question, “Is Gaza much more than an American foreign-policy failure,” Mr. McAdams, who co-produces and co-hosts the “Ron Paul Liberty Report” with Dr. Paul, replies, however, with considered calm and wisdom. Mr. McAdams proceeds to shepherd viewers of the HARD TRUTH podcast through the ins-and-outs of US foreign policy and the crooked dynamics at play among lobbyists in Washington D.C. and beyond. To counter ilana’s gloomy Cassandra—and bolstered by a deep grasp of the American System as it is and as it should be—Daniel melds principle with policy in presenting a way forward:
“A prosperous America is profoundly linked to a foreign policy rooted in peaceful relations and trade with all. With peace, comes real prosperity.”
Daily, over decades, alongside Dr. Ron Paul and independently; Daniel McAdams has done the work of the Lord in explaining to a stiff-necked people, Americans, why current US foreign policy is antithetical to peace and prosperity; to life and liberty, at home and abroad.

In “Iran Tries To Restore Regional Balance; Israel Continues To Murder And Get Away With Murder,” a HARD TRUTH podcast, David Vance and myself have a heated discussion about Iran’s response, on April 13 and 14, to Israel’s murder of senior commanders in Damascus, on April 1. Six other Iranian nationals and six Syrian citizens were assassinated. In all, Israel murdered 13 people in its April 1 strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

I detail Israel’s lengthy, illegal, immoral and extra-judicial assassination program against Iranian civilians and military ongoing for decades, coupled as it is with Israeli cyberterrorism directed at Iran’s infrastructure and state apparatus.

All things considered, I think Iran’s restraint was quite commendable in launching what was a theatrical, victimless, precision attack on Israeli military targets alone. This was the first time Teheran has directly struck Israel proper. Israel, conversely, regularly strikes on Iranian soil.

All the more so is Teheran’s restraint commendable considering that its attempt to make a point, as it deescalated a conflict begun by Israel in Damascus, occurs against the backdrop of a US-led crippling program of sanctions and embargoes directed at the Iranian people, and an Israeli, American-backed and sponsored mass killing and land-confiscation program underway in Gaza and the West Bank.

Both your columnist and David Vance agree that the Israel First neocons have always aimed at regime change in Iran. David, however, pushes back: He sees even greater forces at work in creating global chaos.

Over and above industrial-scale mass murder of individual people—Israel is engaged in the eradication of Gazans as a People ~ilana

If Israeli society is sick; then so are its cobelligerent backers and boosters ~ilana

Inarguably, to condemn Israel’s industrial-scale campaign of slaughter and starvation in Gaza ought to be ethically straightforward. Basic really.

That Israel is committing the “the crime of all crimes” against the Palestinians of Gaza is not within the realm of opinion.

That the Global North is standing stock-still in the face of this well-documented holocaust is not in dispute.

That the United States is an active participant in war crimes, funding and arming Israel in contravention of international humanitarian law , a plethora of US laws (having, without attached conditions, delivered more than 100 arms shipments to Israel since October 7), and the natural justice, articulated by Cicero as early as 106-43 B.C.: these are all fact.

That America has provided the Jewish State with diplomatic cover—running interference for it, so that it may continue to its evil ends—until recently vetoing three (albeit symbolic) international attempts to stop Israel: this, too, is immutably true.

Right and wrong are universal, not relative. The Sixth Commandment is not opinion, but a species of the inviolable natural law. Neither is it optional. “Thou shalt not murder” is called a commandment for a reason. There are no tribal privilege clauses attached to it. Like gentiles, Jews are enjoined against murder, to say nothing of mass murder.

Yet Israelis now flout the Sixth Commandment with ugly audacity. They appear to believe that their sectarian supremacy transcends the universal moral order to which international law, the natural law and the Decalogue give expression.

With its actions, so “conspicuous and outrageous,” Israel has “knocked the cosmos out of kilter” (a lovely line by novelist Kathryn Harrison). Such is the moral turpitude of the Israel Über Alles crowd—Jewish and gentile, stateside and abroad—that they appear incapable of distinguishing evidence from assertion, and facts from feel-good fiction; they can’t tell right from wrong. By necessity, then, any preface to an essay about Israel’s manifestly intentional annihilation of the Gaza Strip must turn into a primer in ethics.

Clearly, if Israeli society is sick; then so are its cobelligerent backers and boosters.

AMERICA’S CEASEFIRE DECEPTION

America has conditioned the inalienable right to life of Palestinians on the return of Israeli hostages, in effect nullifying that inalienable right ~ilana

For throwing-up clouds of obfuscating sepia over its abstention vote on  the United Nations Security Council’s ceasefire resolution, March 25, the Biden Administration and its UN representative must be exposed.

“Ceasefire” in previous U.S. drafts amounted to Orwellian News Speak. Having never once called for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire, the U.S. had perfunctorily predicated temporary ceasefire resolutions on the return of Israeli hostages. Whereas it was obligated morally to compel Israel to forthwith cease and desist its systematic and sustained onslaught on Gaza’s civilians; the US had opted, until March 25, to merely condition the temporary cessation of immoral and illegal mass murder of innocent Palestinians on the release of Israeli hostages, in effect tethering a “ceasefire” to the return of the Israeli hostages.

Against the wishes of citizens of our country and the world, America has deployed its veto power, repeatedly and reliably, in previous United Nations Security Council votes, so as to prevent an immediate, unconditional cease-fire in Gaza.

By so doing, America had conditioned the inalienable right to life of Palestinians on the return of Israeli hostages, in effect nullifying that inalienable right.

Recognizing that the right to life of innocent men, women and children is unconditional; Security Council member states, aside the United States and its protégé Israel, had refused to tether the fate of Gaza to hostage negotiations.

With pellucid logic, Amar Bendjama, Algeria’s ambassador to the U.N and the Arab bloc’s current Security Council member, had stated, February 20, 2024, that, “A vote in favor of [an unconditional ceasefire] is a support to the Palestinians’ right to life.” With its prior vetoes and current abstention, the US had nullified Palestinian right to life independent of the rights of Israeli hostages to the same.

You can say that Gaza’s innocent civilians are being held hostage by Israel enablers Blinken, Biden and Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

The general run of people around the world, however, are having none of this. We have been chanting “ceasefire” with catechetical promptness. The West’s “smart” set is belatedly getting the message that their constituents, decent citizens, are revolted by Israel’s acts and are in-revolt against supporting it.

In response, and oh-so cynically, all Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield did on March 25 was to abstain from using American veto power to stop the good guys—China, Russia, Algeria and the rest of the 15-member UN Security Council—from demanding an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. That’s all.

Expect the Biden Administration and its bi-partisan backers to keep gently cajoling brief lulls—conditional breaks—in the IDF’s bloodletting of a helpless, cornered civilian population.

Covering its wretchedness with sanctimony; the U.S. had not vetoed the last ceasefire resolution; but had, nevertheless, worked to water it down. In its abstention vote, the US has “blocked action in the General Assembly under the Uniting for Peace resolution, where you could have seen some real meaningful action.”

For moral compass scrambled; it’s hard to beat former ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley. In this protracted foreign-policy mirage, Blinken, Biden, Thomas-Greenfield and their political posse do Nikki Haley, a Republican, proud, for Trump’s appointee to the UN would have done nothing different.

CEASE AND DESIST! WHERE’S THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT?

A violent offender, a serial killer, must be stopped; not cautioned and observed! ~ilana

IDF soldiers vaporize young men picking their way through rubble as though in a video game; they mock their victims, invade their homes; filch from their businesses, and rummage through the piteous intimate effects of people dead and dispossessed ~ilana

In the world of patronage, it doesn’t get much worse. The United States is at Israel’s elbow—it is a cobelligerent: In actively sustaining Israel’s armed forces, and running diplomatic interference for its politicians; America is acting as Israel’s “principal sponsor,” complicit in war crimes, signaling  to the Jewish State that it will let it continue to its evil endgame.

As I ventured in January, the issuance of the equivalent of a legal cease-and-desist or a restraining order against a violent offender, Israel, is urgent and long overdue. It’s already too late for Gaza as a habitable landmass.

While progressives lauded the International Court of Justice (ICJ), my perspective about the Court’s indecision, some months back, was dimmer. (Disgust, actually.) Unfocused as I was on legalistic definitions of genocide; it was obvious to me that, what was indubitably mass murder and ethnic cleansing—crimes that are in process and ongoing—had to be stopped right away. A violent offender, a serial killer, must be stopped; not cautioned and observed!

Were the International Court of Justice an effective and just organization it would have issued, not temporary ceasefires, but some sort of binding cease and desist order, some manner of restraining order, if you will, instructing the Israel Defense Forces to stop its depredations.

Another international tribunal, the International Criminal Court (ICC), had “issued, in March of 2023, warrants of arrest, no less “for two individuals in the context of the situation in Ukraine,” one of whom was Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, who was being sought for war crimes. With respect to Israel, the inept International Court of Justice appears compromised.

For in a just society, the moral strictures that apply to the individual must also extend to the collective. Immoral acts that are forbidden severally cannot be sanctioned collectively. If the citizen must not murder; neither should The State, any state.

UN SECURITY COUNCIL CEASEFIRE IS BINDING

A Security Council resolution not defanged by the US could have included a call for diplomatic, military, political, and economic sanctions, the freezing of Israeli assets, the deployment of a protection force, and the establishment of a tribunal for future prosecution ~ilana

In its uncontested superiority, the United States has asserted, moreover, that the UN ceasefire resolution is “non-binding.” “Completely false,” fumes international law expert Graig Mokhiber, in an interview, March 26, with Amy Goodman of “Democracy Now!” And I paraphrase Mr. Mokhiber:

It is black-letter law in the U.N. Charter that all members of the United Nations are bound to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council. The Charter, in Article 25, and in subsequent decisions of the International Court of Justice, has made it indisputable that Security Council resolutions are binding for all member states.

Not only is the last ceasefire resolution binding, but it opens up an opportunity, given that Israel is in breach of it, to table a resolution for enforcement under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, which “empowers the Security Council to orchestrate … collective actions … through a Military Staff Committee.”

A Security Council resolution not defanged by the United States could include a call for corporeal action: diplomatic, military, political, and economic sanctions, the freezing of Israeli assets, the deployment of a protection force, and the establishment of a tribunal for future prosecution.

If left to the rudderless Europeans and Americans—they’ve done not a thing to stop what Ron Unz has termed the first televised mass murder in history—it is for a heavenly tribunal that we will be waiting.

Scars will knit, but the dead don’t rise, and spry young limbs won’t grow back. More than ten children lose their legs daily by the IDF. Spare a thought for the lot of these children hobbled for life, for the US and world leaders have not.

Again, these judicial and political knaves and curs (with apologies to the canine community) could have cut off the supply of munitions to the culprits. (Some have. God bless Canada for placing an embargo on the export of kayaks and maple syrup to Israel.) Without Americans (you and me, the taxpayers); Israel would not last a day in its brave battle against mothers and their babies. To repeat: We could hobble Israel’s offensive by the imposition of sanctions and boycotts, by freezing Israeli assets worldwide, as was done to Russians. Arrest warrants could have been issued, as the International Criminal Court had for Russians.

In essence, stop murdering and maiming Palestinians, no conditions attached.

ANNIHILATION, NOT WAR

Israel’s war is not a war by any known definition

A ceasefire is called upon in war. This is not a war.

Ceasefire is defined as “an agreement, usually between two armies, to stop fighting in order to allow discussions about peace.” Israel’s onslaught on Gaza is not a war by any definition. These are not two armies arrayed one against the other. This is no war between opposing warrior forces. There is no parity here.

Why is Gaza 2023/2024 not a war?

If combat veteran Alan Shebaro, U.S. Special Forces, fails to convince you with his experience, I will follow with fact, law and reason. Listen to Shebaro tell it to a Texas City Council in McKinney:

“I know war. What is going on in Palestine right now is not a war. It is the dehumanization, it’s the genocide, it’s the ethnic cleansing of a specific people to take their land. This is wrong … I’ve seen horrible things, but this [Gaza] takes it to an entirely new level.”

Does any military man half-decent swallow the lie that, in its orgiastic annihilation of Gaza, Israel is fighting another army fair and square?! Also a misnomer is the phrase “military operation.” It mocks out of meaning any linguistic convention that attaches words to the things they signify.

Valor was thus lost, not stolen, when, on October 24, 2023, Colonel Jack Jacobs, a retired US Army veteran—and a man who valiantly spoke up against the invasion of Iraq (ditto)—noodled on about Israel’s “expanding ground operations.” Once a principled voice, Colonel Jacobs lost respectability, right there, for there is no military operation an upstanding military man can get behind in Gaza, where easily 80 percent of the casualties are innocent civilians.

Hip to this last fact is U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. In a quickly retracted statement, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told Congress, on February 19, “that more than 25,000 women and children had been killed by Israel in Gaza since October 7.”

The Pentagon later “clarified” that estimate, insisting that, because the figure came from the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry, not U.S. intelligence; it was unreliable. During that February congressional hearing, Austin had been asked how many Palestinian women and children had been killed by Israel. “It is over 25,000,” he had reflexively blurted out: This, according to the Pentagon, was but a monetary lapse of reason.

US bafflegab contradicts what I referred to, on January 4, as the “your lying eyes” standard, to use Richard Pryor’s wry phrase for he who has been caught in flagrante delicto:

“As they were turning Gaza into Dresden on TV, before our very eyes, Israel’s quicksilver state propagandists were also telling us, their American funders, that ‘this is not happening. …Who are you going to believe? Democratic Israel, or your ‘lying eyes’?’ I believe my ‘lying eyes,’ thank you very much. Those ‘lying eyes’ speak to the scale of Israel’s depredations against Gazans. … [And the numbers of dead, injured and displaced] are deemed ‘broadly reliable,’ by all reputable humanitarian, aid-rendering organizations worldwide, backed as they are by the science of satellite and radar.”

Let us indulge Secretary Austin’s already out-of-date estimate, in order to establish here that Israel’s “operation” is not a military operation behind which any military man worth his salt can stand:

Assume that 25,000 is the number of women and children murdered by Israelis, although it is more, not less, considering that thousands are buried beneath the rubble and more souls are being assassinated as we speak: To wit, in the 24 hours following the Security Councils’ vote, 76 Palestinians were murdered in Gaza.

IF 30,000 is the total—men and women, combatants and civilians—murdered heretofore; then women and children make up 83.3 percent of this total. (25,000/30,000) *100

IF 32,000 is the total number of souls slain to date; then the percentage of women and children is 78.1. (25,000/32,000) *100

IF a total of 33,000 human beings were slaughtered; then the percentage of women and children among them is 75.5. (25,000/33,000) *100

And if the number killed rises to 35,000, as it has, and the number of women and children assassinated is, by some miracle, held constant—their percentage would still constitute (25000/35000) *100= 71.4.

Israel’s war is not a war by any definition.

Unctuous UN ultimatums notwithstanding, as of March 21, Netanyahu had vowed to continue his evil clown’s campaign—so “handsomely equipped to fail” I observed in November—executed by a corrupt, clownishly inept and consistently depraved army.

Why, then, are Israel’s 2023-2024 actions in Gaza genocidal?

WHY GENOCIDE?

Four conditions of genocide fulfilled; not one law of war heeded: In the course of its genocidal campaign; Israel has violated every law of war codified in Customary International Humanitarian Law ~ilana

How do you compensate a people whose society you’ve cannibalized? ~ilana

In a November 2, 2023 essay, “Bibi Obliterates Memory Of October 7 Martyrs; Creates New Martyrs In Gaza,” I explained why, logically at least, Israel has met the threshold for criminal intent, mens rea.

“If you know in advance that your actions will cause the deaths of thousands-upon-thousands of civilians; attached to your criminal actions (actus reus) is a guilty mind (mens rea), which means malice aforethought, also known as intent, in Western jurisprudence and judicial philosophy.”

“The razing and ethnic cleansing of Gaza by Benjmain Netanyahu, abetted by Joe Biden and his Uniparty accomplices, in the course of which tens of thousands civilians are dying: This is murder with malice aforethought, a concept that includes ‘deaths resulting from actions that display a depraved indifference to life.‘ Further depraved indifference to life was Israel’s throttling of supplies of water, food and power to the millions of aid-dependent Gazans, as Israel knew full-well this would imperil civilians indirectly.”

More than industrial-scale mass murder of individual people—Israel is engaged in the eradication of Gazans as a People. Objectively speaking, what Israel has visited on Gazans and their little enclave is not self-defense; but irreparable, wanton mass murder, a “blitzkrieg, by any other name,” combined with ethnic cleansing, and an orchestrated program of starvation against helpless civilians, who are still being indiscriminately and daily bombed, buried—alive and dead—evicted for life.

Even though over 80 percent of the Palestinians of Gaza have been driven from their homes—have no homes to return to; and though over 70 percent of structures in Gaza are gone, pulverized by the IDF—so-called interdiction missions by the IAF, Israeli Air Force, are ongoing, in “flagrant violation of its obligations under international law, both as an occupying power and as a party to the hostilities” (via Gisha), and “in blatant breach of core provisions under the Geneva and Hague Conventions.”

So says an international law consortium out of a Middlesex University London. So say countless reputable human rights organizations, who have submitted amicus briefs in American courts to enjoin President Biden, Secretary of State Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Austin from providing weapons and other forms of support for Israel’s Total War on Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Hoping to skirt jurisdictional limitations, “the U.S.-based Center for Constitutional Rights” has been joined by “an esteemed array of individuals and organizations from around the world, including 139 NGOs.”

Evidence of Israel’s trespass is everywhere.

As I write, raids on the Al Shifa hospital, begun on March 19, continue apace. As of March 22, Israel’s fourth raid on what remains of this hospital was in progress. Over 140 doctors, patients, journalists and other refugees had been summarily executed, reports the indefatigable Amy Goodman of “Democracy Now!” Thousands of refugees crammed into the hospital are currently being turned out, evicted.

All to “thwart terrorism.” Its missionary pursuit of murder in hospitals; Israel blankets with tidy lies.

Israel’s Hamas-made-me-do-it religious doctrine—this concealing of the truth for the faith—insults the intelligence. To listen to the Taqiyyah practiced by these Uncle Sam-sponsored Svengalis; “Palestinians are all terrorists.” Or “terrorist accomplices.” “Israel has effectively characterized the whole population in Gaza as human shields or terrorist accomplices as a matter of legal policy,” observed Francesca Albanese, speaking at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, where she presented her report, “Anatomy of a Genocide.” Ms. Albanese is a scholar, and a UN special rapporteur on the human-rights dispensation in the West Bank and Gaza. On March 27, she issued her report which found “reasonable grounds” to conclude that Israel is culpable of genocide in Gaza.

Gamely repeating Israel’s mantras; Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the United States Department of State, labeled and libeled Ms. Albanese as an “antisemite.” Yes, terrorism. Also, antisemitism if you disagree with Israel, or dare to disbelieve a country’s whose coin of the realm has become state terror.

On March 8, International Women’s Day, the United Nations detailed the warp and woof of survival as a woman in Gaza. At that time, 9000 Palestinian women had been slaughtered by the IDF; 63 women were being slain daily by the same force, including 37 mothers, each and every day.

While the women’s guerrilla movement stateside is galvanizing to go to the polls to ensure their right to evict fetuses from their wombs; Gaza’s women are fighting to keep their fully formed babies alive, fed, safe from unguided bunker-buster bombs lobbed by Israel, and provided by America.

Again: Around 80 percent of Gazans have been driven from their homes. More than 70 percent of structures in the Gaza Strip were reported demolished or damaged, three months ago by the Wall Street Journal. More current satellite radar is available, courtesy of researchers like Jamon Van Den Hoek. His March 13 mapped destruction via satellite reads thus:

IN North Gaza, 69.7 percent of buildings have been destroyed or damaged.

IN Gaza City, it’s 73.7 percent.

IN Deir El-Balah, it’s 54.1 percent.

IN Rafah, an Israeli “work” in progress, 29.5 percent of buildings have been destroyed or damaged.

Gazans have no residences or industries—no life-sustaining infrastructure—to return to upon the implementation of a permanent ceasefire. Gone are their homes, places of work and worship—businesses, agriculture, fisheries, food-production industries and the arable land attached. Gone are the roads, power plants, sanitation and drainage-works, water wells and wastewater treatment plants conduits of electricity, potable water, shelter and food distribution.

Mosques, churches and schools (primary, secondary, tertiary) have been vaporized. Most hospitals, too. Dr. Mads Gilbert, a Norwegian academic, clinician, and longtime volunteer in the occupied territories, speaks to “never-before-seen viciousness; sadism beyond evil.” Gaza had a network of European-style, teaching hospitals, where evidence-based medicine was practiced. Out of over 30 such hospitals, about three remain in tatters. Hundreds of the Strip’s top healthcare providers, who served heroically until hit, have been murdered, often while ministering to patients. The Palestinians of Gaza are now perishing from sepsis, curable and treatable diseases, starvation and dehydration, overseen by Israel. (According to Gisha, which means access in Hebrew.)

Lost with Gaza’s infrastructure is the very fabric of a society—immeasurable human capital—including indissoluble, extended-family networks, the kind of generational bonds we in the West can only dream of, whittled down and depleted in numbers and in their native energy. A people’s cemeteries and archived history have been decimated, their antiquities and artifacts bulldozed and pillaged; their universities flattened; their artists and intellectuals hunted from house to house and extinguished.

Broken, Tariq Haddad, MD, an American cardiologist, told of 100 members of his extended family eliminated. Images of beautiful people, in the full flowering of their vitality (most were highly educated) flashed across the “Democracy Now!” broadcast’s screen. In February, Dr. Nasser Abu-El-Noor, dean of the Faculty of Nursing at the Islamic University of Gaza, along with seven members of his family, sheltering in their home, were murdered. Dr. Medhat Saidam, a renowned plastic surgeon, is buried beneath a building.

Were the High Court in the Hague ever to do its job and engage forensic electronics to that end—it could easily trace the psychological warfare waged, say, against Dr. Refaat Alareer. He had figured out that, “There’s nowhere safe in Gaza, so he chose to stay in his house.” By guerrilla journalist Max Blumenthal’s telling, Alareer and family were sadistically hounded, telephonically, by IDF officers, as they fled from one abode to the next. The IDF finally assassinated he and six members of his family. Myself, I followed a young journalist, Ayat Al Khaddour, who vlogged heroically from her home in Gaza until she was no more, stopped by an IDF-lobbed “precision” bomb, along with members of her family.

Israel has clearly and systematically eliminated the human capital of Gaza in ways diabolically purposeful, irreparable and unforgivable. The best of Gaza are gone; entire Palestinian family trees truncated forever. Why purposeful? Just as the U.S.-backed Israeli military knows the precise azimuths of their targets, including that of the assassinated Refaat Alareer—in the same vein do Israelis have the GPS coordinates of “major infrastructure projects funded by the U.S. government.” These, reports the Associated Press, have been largely spared.

All this is what Article II of the Genocide Convention means by clause number four: “Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.” (Amnesty International: Genocide: The Legal Basis For Universal Jurisdiction.)

To Israel’s rap sheet add at least three additional genocidal actions stipulated in Article II of the Genocide Convention, perpetrated “with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group” (Ibid). These are:

* Killing members of the group.

* Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group.

* Direct and public incitement to commit genocide.

As after the Holocaust, responsibility for decent reparations—Israelis to the Palestinians of Gaza—will need to be worked out. But how do you compensate a people whose society you’ve cannibalized?

EVERY LAW OF WAR FLOUTED

Genocide is a process, not an act. It is the destruction of a population from its roots ~Francesca Albanese

Four conditions of genocide fulfilled; not one law of war obeyed. In the course of its genocidal campaign; Israel has violated every law of war, codified in Customary International Humanitarian Law:

Israel has violated the law of proportionality:

‘Launching an attack which may be expected to cause incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians, damage to civilian objects, or a combination thereof, which would be excessive in relation to the concrete and direct military advantage anticipated, is prohibited.’ (Jean-Marie Henckaerts and Louise Doswald-Beck, Customary International Humanitarian Law, 2012, Cambridge University Press, 2012)

Israel has violated the principle of distinction:

‘The undisputed cornerstone of international humanitarian law (IHL) is the principle of distinction between civilians and combatants, which obliges belligerents to distinguish at all times between persons who may be lawfully attacked, and persons who must be spared and protected from the effects of the hostilities. In order to avoid any ambiguity, these two categories of persons must be mutually exclusive…’ (Ibid)

The law of distinction is an “intransgressible principles of international customary law” (Nils Melzer, The Oxford Handbook of International Law in Armed Conflict, Oxford University Press, 2015)

Israel has violated the principle of precautions in attack:

‘In the conduct of military operations, constant care must be taken to spare the civilian population, civilians and civilian objects. All feasible precautions must be taken to avoid, and in any event to minimize, incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians and damage to civilian objects.’ (Jean-Marie Henckaerts and Louise Doswald-Beck, Customary International Humanitarian Law (2012), Cambridge University Press, 2012)

Only neolithic beasts like Jonathan Conricus or IDF mouth Keren Hajioff, former IDF spokesmen for Israel’s war of annihilation in Gaza, would have the gall to praise the care uniformed IDF take with human life. In case you’ve missed these Israeli bulwark bureaucrats, Conricus and Hajioff are now fellows at the American Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, D.C., as a perusal of the FDD member page would indicate. Following stints in which these two mindlessly chorused for and covered up the goings-on in Gaza—Conricus and Hajioff have migrated to an American “think tank,” likely promoting the interests of entities not the United States, and overriding the balancing forces of regionalism in the Middle East.

In any event, it is writ in Customary International Humanitarian Law that “Specifically Protected Persons and Objects” be protected: Medical (“685 health workers have been killed and 900 wounded”), religious personnel and objects, humanitarian relief personnel (196 killed) and objects, personnel and objects involved in a peacekeeping mission, civilian journalists (103 dead), cultural property, and the natural environment. In Gaza, these numbers are rendered obsolete by the hour.

Still, nothing excites shame in Israeli leaders. Very many of them, including the prime minister, have called on IDF soldiers to show no mercy. This, too, International Law forbids. Quaintly put, prohibited are “directions to give no quarter,” as in  “threatening an adversary therewith or conducting hostilities on this basis.” Prohibited.

“Genocide is a process, not an act,” explains Francesca Albanese aforementioned. It is the “destruction of a population from its roots.” Lara Elborno, another articulate human-rights lawyer, has ventured the following clincher, and I paraphrase:

Had Israel not dropped a single bomb on Gaza, but had done no more than cut off food, water and electricity to its 2.3 million residents—these action alone would suffice to constitute genocide under the treaties.

RAFAH

Devil stretches; devil flexes ~Hilary Mantel

Violence hangs in the air. In truth, it was mid-February when the Israel Defense Forces had commenced its onslaught on 1.5 million Palestinian refugees, who had been corralled from the north to the south, and now huddle helplessly in Raffah.

In its ravening appetite for destruction, Israeli leadership had explicitly conveyed that it would “not relent in [its] assault on the Gaza Strip until they’ve effectively accomplished the destruction of the entire strip. And their attacks now on Rafah, in particular, demonstrate that the last refuge, the last piece of the Gaza Strip that hasn’t been effectively destroyed, is not only in their sights, but already under their bombs.” (Criag Mokhiber, “Democracy Now!,” March 26)

According to Customary International Humanitarian Law, cited so far, “Directing an attack against a zone established to shelter the wounded, the sick and civilians from the effects of hostilities is prohibited.” (Jean-Marie Henckaerts and Louise Doswald-Beck, Customary International Humanitarian Law, 2012, Cambridge University Press, 2012, Chapter 11 – Protected Zones.)

Israeli leadership, political and other, pollute the ear with an unbroken stream of genocide-justification jargon. The barbaric nature of their discourse complements their army’s actions. “Conspicuous and ostentatious” about their depredations; the uniformed IDF appear proud to revel in terrorizing and murdering Palestinian civilians forsaken. In general, YouTube runs cover for the IDF. Still, there are countless videos of nauseating brutality, in which, as though in a video game, IDF soldiers vaporize young men picking their way through rubble; they mock their victims, invade their homes; filch from their businesses, and rummage through the piteous intimate effects of people dead and dispossessed. Other acts of defilement are too lewd to recount. (See BBC News’ “Israeli soldier videos from Gaza could breach international law, experts say.” Or, watch the Glenn Greenwald’s “Shocking IDF Social Media Videos Mock Gazans—Expose New Atrocities.”)

GOOD PEOPLE: GALLOWAY & BUSHNELL

 Wars are a rich man’s affair and a poor man’s fight ~ilana

How many generations of young people can you raise on Big Lies—such as that Israel and its sugar daddy are prosecuting a fair, legitimate war, rather than waging Total War against innocent civilians? ~ilana

“Genocide Joe” and the foreign agents known as the “American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), whose Israel-First focus makes them a fifth column; Trump with Jared Kushner and his better-half: These are America’s 2024 election options.

The Biden-AIPAC bloc has begun whispering sweet nothings in the ears of Israel’s Benny Gantz (National Unity Party), ostensible rival of Bibi Netanyahu (Likud). The AIPAC-run Biden bloc would like you to believe that a chasm in “Israel’s wartime leadership” has opened up. Biden’s bedroom talk with Benny is intended to impress upon the two Jewish supremacists the danger of approaching some sort of political precipice. In the end, Netanyahu and Gantz, who both officiate in their country’s War Cabinet, are philosophically one, inseparable, spherical Gluteus Maximus.

Or, “two flapping cheeks of the same ass,” in George Galloway’s delightfully ribald language. Galloway was describing the political amalgam arrayed against truth and justice in the United Kingdom. As I noted in 2005, Galloway is a master flyter: the ancient Scottish form of invective for which a quick mind and a masterful command of the English language are a must.

Galloway’s capacity for extemporaneous verbal swordplay is not the only thing that distinguishes this jousting member of the British parliament. MP Gallaway and his Worker’s Party ran on foreign policy, in Rochdale, UK, and, in particular, he secured “thumping majorities” in a protest vote for Gaza—and against our overlords, stateside and in Israel, whose new norm is to be out-and-proud about genocide.

There will be flyting words aplenty to come.

The normalization of genocide is what U.S. Airman Aaron Bushnell was protesting when he set himself alight, on February 28. Airman Aaron Bushnell, of blessed memory, self-immolated to protest that upon which Galloway secured his victory in Rochdale: Israel’s war on Gaza.

Bushnell died horrifically, yet heroically, like a man—calm and rational—as he recited his reason for self-immolation: “I will no longer be complicit in genocide. This is what our ruling class has decided is the new normal.” Airman Bushnell was driven not by mental disease, but by a morally depraved society that supports de facto terrorist state Israel, with American moral imprimatur, its money and materiel.

Wars are a rich man’s affair and a poor man’s fight. American soldiers have always served as collateral damage in the nefarious projects of Uncle Sam and its client states. Their causes and concerns, unless jingoistic and Fox-News friendly, seldom rate a mention. But, following Aaron Bushnell’s demise; many members of our military symbolically burned their uniforms in disgust, only to be mocked by Conservative Inc (or ConOink, as I call them). But they are right, and “this is wrong,” inveighed Alan Shebaro. “There’s nothing more American than speaking out against what’s wrong.” Like elite soldier Alan Shebaro, “Bushnell decried U.S. complicity in the Gaza genocide.”

At its core, what Bushnell was protesting is something even-more fundamental. For words are symbols. They are used as agreed-upon conventions to make sense of the world. What happens when these shared linguistic constructs no longer correspond to the things they are supposed to describe? Bushnell, who was in-the-know militarily, must have grown angrier and angrier as the symbols his society deploys clashed with the reality these symbols were supposed to signify. Particularly did he appear susceptible to the schizophrenogenic communications transmitted, on an ongoing basis, by the many Orwellian Ministries of Truth.

For how many generations of young people can you raise on Big Lies—such as that Israel and its sugar daddy are prosecuting a fair, legitimate war, rather than waging Total War against innocent civilians? Total War is a term to describe an all-out war against any and all. “What I saw was not war, but annihilation,” lamented Dr. Ifran Galaria, volunteer in Gaza, to MSNBC’s Joy Reid.

CALIGULA KUSHNER

Jared Kushner, the nepotistic scion of a dodgy New York realtor, and an empty husk of a man, is coveting the waterfront property of a conquered and dying people ~ilana

These days, “bloody Blinken, secretary of genocide”—a moniker given to him by the grand ladies of “Code Pink,” who have camped out at the Blinken mansion—has been coming and going to the Middle East. In dizzy rapture over Israel, Blinken shuttles to-and-fro on missions to smooth over Israel’s assault on Gaza; make it more genteel, more sellable.

Sellable as Jared Kushner assesses “Gaza’s waterfront property” to be.

With the fey charm of a state-cutter—a coroner—preparing to carve a corpse; philosopher-king Kushner shrugged a slender shoulder, as he languidly mused:

‘I’m sitting in Miami Beach right now, and I’m looking at the situation [in Gaza] and I’m thinking: What would I do if I was there? … I would just bulldoze something in the Negev, I would try to move people in there … I think that’s a better option, so you can go in and finish the job. … I do think right now opening up the Negev, creating a secure area there, moving the civilians out, and then going in and finishing the job would be the right move.’

This waterfront property “could be very valuable” Kushner let slip, on February 15, to an audience at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Middle East Initiative.

Kushner, you recall, had been Trump’s point person on foreign policy, the Middle East and much else. Little Lord Fauntleroy had even been entrusted with “preparing a peace plan for the Middle East.”

That Kushner had been invited to regale an audience at an elite American university is all you need to know about the intellectual and moral tenor of discourse in the USA. In this repulsive vignette, Jared Kushner, the nepotistic scion of a dodgy New York realtor, and an empty husk of a man, is coveting the waterfront property of a conquered and dying people.

For once, America’s Fourth Column (media) was in the peculiar position of covering up and finessing Kushner’s unfiltered remarks. After all, his position is that of the legacy media and their political paymasters.

BILL CLINTON: ‘WHO’S THE F–KING SUPERPOWER HERE?’

What if America were the Good Guy? Gaza is a desert of the dead and the dying. Let the American Super Power ride to the rescue ~ilana

Israel’s contempt for the United States is complete.

Unsatisfied with his butcher’s bill in Gaza, demiurge Netanyahu had, at first, cancelled Israel’s delegation to Washington, furious that the United States of America failed to veto a UN ceasefire proposal.

“After his first meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in 1996,” recounts Patrick Theros, of “Responsible Statecraft,” “Bill Clinton vented his fury before his staff about his visitor’s apparent presumptions about the balance of power in the bilateral relationship. ‘Who the f–k does he think he is?’ Clinton reportedly bellowed. ‘Who’s the f–king superpower here?’”

Indeed.

Gaza is a desert of the dead and the dying. Israel, however, is miring humanitarian aid in capriciously sadistic paperwork and protocol. An example is their “dual-purpose” doctrine: “Did you know that syringes, desperately stuck in Palestinian veins deflated by dehydration, can be dual-purpose items?” Yeah! Used for terrorism, found in the tunnels, propping-up the tunnels, the lot.

If you can believe it, our “allies” the Israelis are hindering the delivery of American aid to Gaza.

Come again?! You heard me. It now transpires that, in thrall to Bibi Netanyahu, the “Super Power” is planning to construct a floating pier—a run-around around the Israelis, who had also, long ago, tampered with Gaza’s little port, situated as it was, once-upon-a-time, “near the Remal district of Gaza City,” of blessed memory.

Commensurate with Israel’s outrageous excesses, and the crazed riffs coming out of Israeli heads; Israel has established itself as a war criminal. By letting the blood of Palestinians for six months, and showing no intention of letting up; Israel has forfeited its right to protest decisive American intervention. Besides, he who pays the piper calls the tune.

Under present conditions, a president who spoke like President Clinton might have made Americans proud. For once, the American Super Power could entertain ordering Israel, convulsing in paroxysms of evil, to cease and desist.

As easily, and after ordering Israel to stand down; America could… commandeer Israel’s Sde Dov or Ben Gurion Airport. Or, both. This is an emergency. Fleets of our assorted military and cargo 747 aircraft would land like angels at an Israeli airport adjacent to Gaza.

Great big engines would be gunned.
Out would roar all the Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks converted to a mission of mercy.
Into Northern Gaza would rush these life-saving American trailer trucks, carrying supplies and sustenance for the starving.
Down would go Israel’s fences and in would flow non-stop supplies, as though on a loop.

Landing in and delivering life-saving supplies from a well-appointed Israeli facility into northern Gaza, and throughout the Strip: This is the fastest and smartest way to succor a dying people.

Instead, America chooses to fellate Bibi NetanYahoo, his barking mad military and their berserk countrymen, 88 percent of whom “give a positive assessment of the performance of the IDF in Gaza until now. (Tamar Hermann, “War in Gaza Survey 9,” Israel Democracy Institute, January 24, 2024), 58 percent of whom grumble that not enough force has been deployed to date; and 68 percent of whom say “they do not support the transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza.”
